Soldado and Chiriches

According to reports today, both players are potentially set for the exit door.

Chiriches is set for a loan move to Fiorentina, whilst Soldado is apparently a target for both Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla.

Would ideally like to sell Chiriches, but these racking Serie A teams are pushing for these loan deals all over the place. He seems to enjoy attacking more than he does defending which was never going to wash. Would have hoped it would have worked out for him here as if I recall correctly, we went to a bit of trouble to get him.

As for Soldado....... Sigh..... Having watched La Liga for years I was fully aware of what he was capable of and had been saying for a while that he was someone we should sign. Was looking forward to seeing him being fed from threaded passes by Eriksen and using his movement to get on the end of crosses or cutbacks from the flanks. Disappointing that Baldini/AVB bought someone totally unsuited to the style of play, it's all set to end in disaster. Hope they if or when he does go, he finds his mojo again, as his confidence has been shattered during his stay at White Hart Lane.

Depends

Booth was a loan

Raszsik never really given a shot

Postiga hardly played

Zamora was a kid who cost peanuts.

Soldado has had 2yrs under three coaches and looked shít under every one

Doesn't matter on your reasons, they were still comfortably worse to see as a forward in a Spurs shirt which is what you said.

Add in Rebrov, Fenn and Allen and all worse forwards that Soldado in a Spurs shirt.

Fenn and Allen

It can be argued that Soldado was worse in 'pound-for-pound' terms, but that's not what the original comment said. Ability-wise he's far from the worst.

Wasn't my comment to begin with.

If Soldado was Bob Soldier and had been signed from Walsall, he'd still be classed as shíte, like the others.

3 open play goals from 53 games is up there with the worst for a supposed out and out goalscorer.

Awful

Allen scored 2 in 20

Maybe we didn't play to his strengths

Yeah Soldado has been pretty gash. I think it looks worse on paper, when you watch him play you can see he has ability and intellect, but it just wouldn't click for him. Not the worst I've seen in a spurs shirt tho, but certainly the most disastrous in relation to his price tag, or at least on a par with Rebrov.

Exactly.

Of course it looks bad on paper....we signed a poacher who doesn't score. If we signed a keeper who could only save the most straightforward shots I'd say he was an awful player, even if his kicking was superb and

Ginger Pele was an awful player, but at least he occasionally played his part in a good defensive performance, or even popped up with a goal.

He had heart. Something Soldado clearly lacks, and a big part of what makes a player a success.

He has been awful. If your name is Gregor Raziak nobody makes excuses for you. It's no different for him

Only Spurs would sign a clinical goalscorer from one of the best leagues in the world to then become gash

You'll never know, Rap....There is no guarantee and every transfer is a risk.

What I have learned in the last few seasons is that the risk a player from Seria A turns out to be gash is higher see Lamela, Jovetic, Balotelli....than from La Liga.
