Di Maria

From Sky Transfer Centre:

Angel di Maria's move from Manchester United to Paris St Germain appears all but done after the Argentina winger underwent a medical in Doha and expressed his happiness at the proposed switch.

The 27-year-old was given permission to fly to Qatar for talks with PSG officials after United agreed a 63million euro (£44million) fee with the French champions for the midfielder.
Neither club has announced the deal but speaking to beIN Sports, Di Maria said: "I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain. What I know about PSG is that they are a team who have won all possible titles in France last season. They're very important."

-----

Translates as "I'm very happy as it's going to be much easier than in England, cause the league is shitt, and I don't care if it's a small club cause they're paying me plenty of oil money and it's a bit sunnier here than Manchester"

What a tit, good riddance to a player who didn't want to ride it out and try and make a name for himself where the likes of Ronaldo, Cantona, Best etc have before him

Up till February there was about 5 teams in the running for the French league, . There wasn't a great deal of difference between what Chelsea and PSG points gaps to second places in their leagues. French league is plenty competitive

And it's not about not being able to hack it either. He didn't want to be here. Paris was always his first choice. Annoying to have lost £15mil on him however.

But pedro will hopefully fair far better.

Have we lost 15m on him though? He is a year older and has a year less on his contract. I think that PSG have more or less paid his 'book price' as I believe Ripley's Cat put it.

Hes only 27 and cost 60 mil. He hasnt got any worse physically, i know we drastically over paid for him and have got closer to what his actual worth is, but yes in my book weve lost 15 mil.

I don't think that it matters that he is only 27. That is another year that he can't play for you. I'd say that we have lost some money in terms of his value, but not £15m. Probably more like £5m. Which isn't bad considering how badly he wanted out and the fact he hadn't had a good season.

It isn't as high as that given the exchange rates at the time & what they are now.

We bought him for £59.7m (74.625 euros at the time)
Sold him for £44m (63m euros)

So the loss was 11.6m euros, £8m at todays exchange rate. It's not great but not as high as people have made out.

Given most transfers across Europe will be done in euros, it will have been kept in a euro account.

Interesting. In that case I don't think we have lost anything on him when you consider his contract is a year shorter and he is a year older.

Tbh for the return he gave us it was well worth paying the £8M for.
