29 shots!
19 high, wide and ugly.
Even the penalty could have been saved if the goalie had had a bit more luck.
Overall, like the proverbial curate's egg.
I will never understand why rover's managers keep playing Copps behind the striker. He's not quick enough to cope with the lack of space in the middle. When he went onto the right we should have had at least 3 goals from his crosses and shots.
So just when we look certain to score, PD moves him back into the middle and brings on the not so Main man. I don't think Williams touched the ball after that. I always think it shows a lack of imagination when a manager just shoves on as many strikers as he can, and then they usually just get in each others way.
In conclusion:
There was a lack of enthusiasm/passion/intensity and confidence too much in evidence.
The team shape was too rigid.
The two wide men aren't wide men.
If Williams is to get the number of goals he needs to get to fulfil any of PD's predictions, we need someone to play wide who can beat a man.
Just saying!

Lanza.
You know enough about football to know that Copps wasn't shocking.

He must have had 6 CLEAR shots at goal and MISSED the target every time and the miss before half time was nothing short of embarrassing.

Agreed he isn't the best at shooting but no way can it be said it was shocking.
Almost everyone on all forums has him as mom.

He was played behind the lone striker to do exactly what he did the only trouble is he couldnt finish his dinner. He got himself(because he is a very talented player) into perfect positions to score but could not do the job he was employed to do.

Lanza,
While I agree that the Rovers should hit the target more often, especially in a game where we created so many shots, as I only can see the highlights on player, you seem to be a little hard on 26. The attempt just before half time that was shown did not seem to be an embarrassing miss. #26 went for the best option, the far post, and only just missed. Yes, may be should have scored, but to me it was not "an embarrassing miss". The most embarrassing miss shown on highlights to me was Harry Foresters.
I just remember #26's two hat tricks and wish he could find those shooting boots.

What is it that you are saying, Lanza?
1. He played well even though he didn't score.
2. He played poorly because he should have scored.
3. He should play in a different position.
4. He should be left back (?).
BTW it was a bad miss!
