So pleasing to hear Tony Pulis take the blame for his sides defeat at home to Man City.
TAKE NOTE DIKOFF
It's on Sky Sports 1 so there will be lots of internet links
Head n Heart job on this one Yankee
Lots of interesting results tonight with Championship teams biting the dust against "lower" teams. I hope we carry-on the trend on Thursday.
I think Brentford will rue the decisions to give so many players debuts against lesser fry!
As Admin one has given us a one match enabled I will do a small thread as I suspect most of you in Europe as well as us in the States will actually be watching the game on TV and not posting until after the game, hopefully following a Rovers win.
The results so far have shown that the Championship clubs have decided to give up on this competition, OR, the lower clubs have improved enough to actually compete with those in the Championship. If that is true then both League One and League Two are going to be very competitive this season.
I hope that the latter is true as it will be even better when we win the League One title. OK, put me down, I only said it as a joke.
I do think that the game being on TV has come at a good time when we have the good word about us going around the world following the mess at the end of Saturday's game with Bury.
I do think that whatever you think about Paul Dickov, he did do the right thing as Forrester had no intention of scoring. I do think Harry came out of it well also with his on field apology and then what he put out in the media.
Football is a sport played by sportsmen/women and it will be a sad day when we forget that.
One of my colleagues at work is a Spurs fan and leaves tomorrow for ten days in the UK, mainly to watch his beloved Tottenham.
COME ON YOU REDS.
I'll be home at 1.30 pm ready to watch the reds take on the Weeds.
Let's go Rovers.
at the keepmoat.come on rovers
Well not a good start poor from McCullough caught out then Jones exposed for pace, stuck man pushes a ball straight back into play and an easy tap in!
Williams is having a mare has he managed to control anything yet?
Reasonable first half, initial storm weathered and now playing against ten. Williams seemed to come alive after the penalty and Copps could have had a couple.
Evina looks to be putting himself about, but Stuckmann again parries into play rather than away from the goal, he needs to watch that. He did something similar in pre season I seem to remember. Looking forward to the second half.
Funny how no one says anything now we are level and on top
Excepting you Yankee- your post got there before mine
I am here Yankee, not that impressed by either team as of yet. Hopefully we can make the extra man count
I really do not know why Forester is on
Another positive comment then.
FFS we have murdered em second half.
Like trying to kill someone with a straw
I think if we can get another of their players sent off we might have a chance
It seems as though it's a case of DIckov's "If we can't win it we don't want to lose it", yet it's the Cup and if it goes to penalties it becomes a game of chance.
But there surely has to be a will to win and it has not been apparent since the attacking spell we had following the penalty. We have been content to knock it around all the second half as though we had a comfortable lead.
Where is the spirit? And with Main on the field in his customary shooting form we might as well have 10 men too.
Basically a full 90 mins with an extra man
Great result in the end, now Ipswich at home in the next round.
One thing I must say having seen the giant Blonde haired centre forward. We'd be better off with Hatfield Main rather than Curtis Main, I stand by my comments of the other day. What a waste of space he is.
In the end the same old story of not being able to put the chances away. Copps could have had at least five with more control.
Let's hope this will boost confidence, because the best interpretation I can put on this is that there has to be more ambition and effort which was not altogether apparent tonight. Just keeping the ball when the match is there for the taking is puzzling tactically. Williams seemed the most imaginative player on show for us and although Forester is not always entirely sensible he does have a more adventurous spirit than most who seemed frightened to be positive in the way that DIckov advocates.
26 shots to their 9
So that isn't attacking intent then?
If some of you lot can't post a negative comment you don't post at all.
The whole point of keeping the ball(61%) is make the opposition tired through having to chase it.
Eventually a chance to shoot or cross comes along as the stats proved.
After the sending off we always were the more likely winners and with better accuracy would have won comfortably.
