Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea is expected to remain at Manchester United beyond the end of the transfer window.
De Gea, 24, missed Saturday's win over Tottenham because manager Louis van Gaal thinks his concentration has been affected by interest from Real Madrid.
United continue to insist they will only sell for a world record fee for a goalkeeper or if Real's Spain defender Sergio Ramos, 29, comes the other way.
And club officials are not expecting either to happen before 1 September.

Ramos is close to signing a new contract this week according to the Spanish media, so it looks like Madrid either pay the fee we want or they jog on.
Does anyone know the record fee for a keeper? It's Buffon at €40m right?

Biggest load of shiet I've ever read.
______________
Coming from the person who thinks that De Gea is worth £80m+ because ADM cost £60m, I'll take that as a compliment.

No I don't.

Based on what Darren, enlighten me.

You think de gea is the most overrated player ever.
He is probably the best keeper around at the moment as well as courtois, both have 10+ years left of playing time and both WILL guarantee you points 100%.
Please tell me how they are worth less than 60 million in todays climate.
Am interested to hear your views.

Quite simple: no club would ever pay that for a keeper.

I'm sure that's what people said about Andy Carroll.

By that logic I'm sure a left back will go for £100m.

Come on...
There has been enough stupidly over priced players recently.
Luiz
Torres
Sterling to name a few
It is not out of the ordinary for a club to pay stupid money for average players

It's out of the ordinary for teams to pay stupid money for goal keepers, though.
The fact the world record for a goal keeper still stands at about £30m from about 15 years ago shows it's a position where big money isn't often spent.
And no keeper has gone for more than £20m.
De Gea is the third most expensive keeper of all time at only £18m.

Surely even accidentally fluking assists would win a team points?
I don't think another United midfielder has managed to 'fluke' that many assists for quite some time, indicating that ADM must be really lucky to do so many flukes.
A player that lucky is worth tens upon tens of millions easily.
If someone fluked the same kind of assists and goals Ronaldo and Messi do they'd be worth similar to them, who cares about ability if someone's that lucky?
I always say I'd rather be lucky than good!
