Read a few rumours today regarding possible ins and outs, unfortunately I think most of them are too good to be true and simply wishful thinking.
Diawarra & Bangura, will be amazed if we sign one never mind both.
Samaras, Sunderland bound, talk about Karma. Never suited to Celtic's style and should only have been offered a new contract if "up for sale". Wouldn't take much to tempt me to sell.
Maloney, very much a sunny day at Parkhead player, for all he is one of the more creative players we have, he is not worth the money he's on and is a luxury we can do without.
Ridgewell, exactly the kind of player we need solid no-nonsense left sided defender. Get him in!
Ki, another not suited to the SPL. Ki is a fine prospect, who when given time on the ball, can be deadly. However in our kick and rush league, he often looks overly casual and gets caught in possession. We have enough cover in this area and although a better footballer, I would prefer to keep Brown who is better suited to SPL. If bids of £7-8 million come in for the lad then he should go, although I would be tempted to accept a lower fee in return for a sell on fee, (especially if he goes to EPL).
There is a fair surplus of others in the squad who should be moved on but finding another club will not be so easy. If Ridgewell or similar is brought in, Majstorovich, and Loovens should go. Keep Rogne & Mulgrew as back up. Rasmussen deserves a chance, but will he ever get it. Again if Lennon won't play him then move him on.
The next 36 hours will be interesting, but being a realistic Celtic supporter, probably disappointing.

jutebhoy, Don't disagree but it is disappointing when you think what a player he looked like becoming.
Haven't seen anything about Ridgewell coming and would be amazed if we signed 2 strikers although we need them as alternatives to Stokes & Hooper.
Convinced that Lenny will play Mulgrew at CB if we get a LB rather than buy a big, strong, fast CB.
Doubt about Sammy to Sunderland as their preference is for Crouch.

will be happy if maloney goes and we get anything near 1 million for him. As i said a few weeks ago i cannot believe this is him starting his 4th season back at celtic. has contributed almost zero and has been living off past seasons.
as for samaras it just sounds too good to be true but a lot of sunderland fans think bruce is capable of signing him.
revenge for murphy would be sweet

short of strikers if sammy goes, we have 2 out and out strikers i do think two forwards will come in

Puyol, these windows will come and go but the magic of being a fan is that each of our clubs is a never-ending story, in which, the cast will change from time to time.
As fans we go on forever and we all live in hope.

As I said in my own thread, before I realised this one!
Its seems o good to be true but the reports coming out of Sky sports about Diawara seem to be good and his agent was saying a fee has been agreed so this could happen.
Although I agree completely with morbhoy, we really need another centre half, I'd rather we sign one striker and use whatever funds we have to bring in a big centre half. Mulgrew is a decent player and is useful for being a utility player but he is not the answer to being a regular in out team, especially at centre half.

Maloney = LIABILITY...not to strong a word I think.

Agree, Mulgrew is well worth keeping as squad player as can cover CB, (decent) LB, (weak) and holding midfielder at a push.

I STILL See No Subs Except
I agree that Maloney is a decent we player and could have his uses, but I dont think Lennon rates him in this system he plays, so if there is cash being offered to help us bring in new striker we may aswell cash in.
Same goes for Ki, if its true that we have been offered 7 million I'd take it. I believe our strongest midfield is Brown, Ledley, Kayal and Commons.
