After being released by Norwich City at the end of the 2014/15 season when his contract expired, Luciano Becchio has left Rotherham and has returned with his tail between his legs to his homeland Argentina to play for Club Atlético Belgrano in the Argentine Primera División as their number 27.
He must be kicking himself he left Leeds.
By the way where is Beckford ? - I haven't seen him in the Preston squad since the beginning of the season - is he injured ?
Becchio gone Home !

Becchio joined in Summer of 2008.
In 2008-09 he scored 19.
In 2009-10, he scored 17, despite being out injured for two months and subsequently nearly dying by swallowing his tongue
In 2010-11, he scored 20, was injured twice, with a hamstring pull meaning he missed the end of the season
In 2011-12, he scored 11 despite missing pre-season and the first month of the season due to a recurrence of his hamstring injury
In 2012-13, he scored 19 by the end of January, when he left for Norwich.
All in all, he entered the top 10 goalscorers of all time for LUFC in 5 seasons despite suffering injuries practically every season. And many of those were headers.
He also set up a lot of goals for others, especially when he and Beckford played together.
Every player has their strengths and weaknesses. Becchio was no exception, but highlighting his weaknesses over what he brought to us is infantile. IMHO.

But the Barnacle don't rate him LST...!
You providing stats like that just proves that Becchio couldn't trap a ball or run down the channels or have anything about him to appease our very own self proclaimed expert on all things football.
Button Mushroom keeps harping on about other people not going to games and being unable to comment (in his warped view) yet he went to every game and missed all the evidence you've just provided...!
Priceless.
Should has gone to spec savers !!

Eric
Goals aren't just what a player is judged on
Like I keeping saying his all round game the last two years were down hill.
And seeing has he hardly played a game since then, indicates he was in decline.
You wouldn't know how he was playing, you wasn't watching him every week.

Don't want to appear to be picky, but Becchio isn't in our list of top 10 goalscorers - I think he's 11th on the list.
If memory serves, he appears at number 10 only if you limit it to League goals.
Personally, I agree with VOF, thought he aways gave 100%, irrespective of his faults - and boy, could that lad fall to the ground! - and was always happy to see him on the teamsheet. Not sure why it's thought his tail's between his legs, he's in his 30's, why not head back to his own country?
Good luck to him.

Mike, if I'm his agent, I'd love to know where my money is!.
It don't matter to much who says he could or couldn't do whatever, people see him for what he was, and I see him as a x-player that did his job for us and did it well!..
LIW, he has a record for us that puts pain to your argument, he did what he was told to do, and history will never change that!..

12 goals at this moment in time!..
To tell the truth, I've been peeping on the Leeds site wondering where they'd stuck him!..
Bolton!..
Fulham!..
MK Dons!..
Bristol City!..
A third off our goals have come from the spot, that's 4 from 12, and some think we're doing well!.
I suppose we could add the ones from the penalty shootout and call it half!.

Sol, I've just signed in, was looking but wouldn't have seen this if I hadn't signed in!.
Thing is, I was going to start a thread about our Pens, but this made that a bit off a dumb idea!.
Cheers Sol!.
