No they aren't. Chelsea have been tracking in for a while and Spurs put a bid in for him. I happen to believe we have been following him as was stated for some time. We just saw an opportune moment now to get him as Monaco were knocked out of the CL and they wanted to get in first. LVG likes a mix of young and experienced players and multi-functional ones and he fits that bill. Yes it's a lot of obey but as fans of a club that has money coming out of all orifices we shouldn't care about that.
I just think we are one player short still upfront, ie. A regular goalscorer. Austin would maybe have been worth a shot for £15m as well

Tbh if fellaini's was a panic buy then so is this. Similar situation in that could have been bought much cheaper previously nd then bought for an extortionate fee on deadline day. Doesn't matter to me though. If united spend all that money then they have less to spend elsewhere

The money we've paid for Martial is ridiculous, but I honestly don't think it's made a serious dent in what we can afford to spend.

Besides which, the transfer window is closed now.

Has anyone officially confirmed the fee? I know the club do not usually do so.

I don't think you will ever get an official confirmation of the fee unless Monaco say it.
