Is it just me or is it not absolutely cringeworthy how much praise Rooney is getting?
Don't get me wrong, I am a massive Rooney fan and have been his whole career.
He use to be a fantastic player, then he became a fantastic goal scorer, at the same time forgetting how to control a football and mastering how to smash the ball to the right wing instead of charging forward with the ball like the old days.
Rooney crossed over the line by scoring so many penalties and the way the pundits and commentators bang on about how it's such a special night and it couldn't have been in a better place .. Ie. Wembley.
Ugh... Shut the fack up. Cringeworthy!
He's been beyond awful at all major tournaments for England in the important games and has mugged United off a treat twice and now repaying us with his graceful ability this season.
Am I the only one who thinks this?

said he wouldnt do it this time. I dont particually see much wrong with it myself but its his decision.
honestly its not gonna make a difference, if england play to our best well still be lucky to make it to the knock out stages.
we have a very poor side.

How many goals in major tournaments? Not many is the answer. The ironic things is that Peter Crouch always got stick for being a flat track bully and only scoring against the minnows, but a study a while back showed that Rooney was much worse for doing that.
Scoring a whole load of goals against terrible teams in qualifying is great for getting us into major tournaments, but we might as well leave him home when we get there.

depends on what you class as chit tbh.
Ive only seen 98 onwards and we were good at 98. 2002,2004 and decent in 06.
we were also very good at 96.
we were dire 2000, 2010 and 2014. but 2014 is more due to the fact thats where we are as a nation these days in terms of quality. it was expected.

Perhaps he felt it was wrong because it affected his performance going into the tournament where he played shiiite, despite his tap in.

its how he usually performs for england.
hes surrounded by dross and isnt a special player that can do much on his own.
he doesnt have the all round game.
he will perform the same next summer because our team is dire. thats a fact. vegas i doubt made very little difference. him not going didnt make much of a difference last summer did it
