Hey, Basingstoke - you missed a thread in your honour this morning. Finishing off the player ratings from the other night.

Really! Did you rate the subs?

Surely Mendes received a 7.2

There seems to be rules around what you are allowed to reminisce about without getting accused of living in the past. One is that that a narrow victory in a second division game a number of years ago is OK and is a real highlight in a massive clubs history, but talking about winning stuff is a small club thing

Another one is that if you've got half your squad out through injury and bring it up you're making excuses but if you've got 3-4 out then it is a valid discussion point where dips in form are occurring.

Also, certain people will question why one of our players want to leave the club. Yet a former manager who was recently departed needed to swear ultimate loyalty with their club with slight interest up North, and although is was a legend as an average player and half decent no.2; is now a massive Judas

I suppose you expect higher standards of clubs you look up to from a distance (being hedge next the the training ground with full stalking gear)

Did we win something Ray? Do tell me all about it - or better still, can you recommend a film about it that might be in cinemas next month?

Isn't that a fictional film? American's seem to be fans of these rags to riches, underdog type sports team films. Wouldn't happen in real life

A team of losers transformed into world beaters by a man who had been written off. That would definitely make a good underdog movie - maybe Michael Sheen could reprise his role as BC. Maybe one day...
