In other news, Veldwijk has apparently stated that he wished he had signed for Feynoord ahead of Forest last summer but they didn't take up the option they had on players from Exelsior. Think the feeling is mutual, Lars...

He's scored 6 in 7 for Zwolle, another player who'll no doubt have a decent career for himself away from Forest who simply never gave him a proper chance.

It's a different league in a different country. Who is to say even with more of a shot in the first team he would have replicated that? Apparently he struggled in the U21's when given the chance there and it didn't work out for him. Unless you saw something in his few appearances, U21's or training that told you otherwise?

I read what Veldwijk said, but the fact is that he hasn't shown ANYTHING promising in a red shirt at all, so maybe he's better off in Holland.
Given what Freedman has said about wanting players that want to play for us, there's no chance of him coming back now anyway. Your loss Lars.

Wes is now in the UK, he arrived early this morning. I hope he has a great time over here.

Crikey - he's got 7,162 followers on Twitter. Absolutely nuts!!
Certainly seems excited to be here. Hope the team's performance at the weekend doesn't do anything to dampen his spirits...

Lars Veldwijk wasn't mentally up to it. Didn't like the physicality of the English game and it was painfully clear to see whenever I saw him in a Forest shirt. It's a shame as he looked the part but he game some opposition centre halves a very easy game here. Good luck to him in Holland.

I remember that video of big Lars scoring lots of goals. You lot where humping the dining table leg over him then. I told you that he was crap.

I think celebrating or at least acknowledging our fan base is a great idea.
Big Wes goes home and tells all his mates that we sang a song for him, that he meets Fawaz, that we beat Hull etc....
His mates then come round to watch a game, get into it, by some XL shirts (US style) and so a little pocket of America gets some Forest support. They then buy the 'I believe in Miracles' DVD and some local journo picks it up and it's on WES456 TV news etc etc....
Americans love an underdog, or is that love to fight one?
Welcome to social media Len. It may just get us a few more fans and a bit more publicity. If you don't like it, just swipe left.

Apologies for being a bit positive, well, except for Veldwjick. Couldn't make it in the U21s, moves back to Holland. Bingo!!!! We sell him for a profit and move on to give another player a go e.g. Oliveria the Portuguese international.
Please Len, the internet is a precious and sensitive thing, don't break it with your dour negativity.
