OK no WUM here

Want to hear from all football supporters of any persuasion.

Not happy with removing old 606, I use my freeview box to listen to radio commentries as well. But BBC in their wisdom have decided to stop broadcasting at 5pm during the week and 4pm on a weekend. Now I pay my licience, and i believe this is a restrictive practice. The thing is that we know they can broadcast on that format as they do up to the times they decide to stop it. Should we refuse to pay our licience as we are being restricted to use whatever format we wish to to listen to our football.

This is serious question.

Its so the BBC can free up signal space to allow them to broadcast BBC Alba in Scotland on freeview

Some BBC radio channels don't broadcast on freeview between certain hours - normally about 5pm to 11pm. The television budgets have been cut but the broadcast times haven't. It just means programmes have to be made cheaper.

As for the OPs question, if you feel like not paying your TV license in protest, feel free. It annoys me a little but since I don't pay a license fee I can't really complain. Can you not just listen to the radio on the internet, or a radio?

If you watch programmes on demand then I think you may be exempt from paying a licence.

The BBC has really gone down hill over the last few years. I think Radio Scotland has gone from being one of the best stations around (not just for sport) to probably one of the worst. They brought in a 'new' guy a while back and it is absolutely woeful now. ... especially from 8.45am to around 8.00pm. Cheap nonsense now... it's like loose women meets Scotty McClue

Scotty McClue? No heard that mentalist in years.

I still think Sportsound is by far the best football coverage, tv or radio, in this country. Have you ever listened to radio five? Everyone on it either has no passion, no knowledge or is just very bland.

And the thing on sky with Jeff Stelling has been completely overtaken by Open All Mics, which does a similar job but in a much more entertaining way.

Disagree mate, Soccer Saturday is miles better than anything on the Beeb.

Fair enough, but whenever I've seen it they seem to spend all their time trying to entertain themselves rather than the viewers. It's like watching a group of guys you don't know at the pub watching football. Its impossible to get any sense of what is actually happening in any of the games they are watching.

Radio scotland's sportsound is absolutely guff! they only concentrate on gossiping and do very little talking about stuff on the pitch!
