Have just started replaying this game again since purchasing it last year , in completed it once but haven't touched it for about 9 months.
I forgot what a great game this is. The graphics are great with some real proper shat your self moments .
By playing this game again it's got me wanting a sequal to be made but with the introduction of 100s of aliens and a pulse rifle to blow them fackers away.
Anyone else played this at all and if so what was your opinion of it ?
Alien Isolation.

"I was amused by the downbeat review it got on coming out. It seems a lot of the big review sites are either on the payroll of Some software houses."
That's been going on for decades. Games media relies on advertising. Companies who advertise with them get an easy ride, those that don't are either reviewed more honestly or even ignored completely.
Alien Isolation itself didn't get particularly poor reviews, it's just that most other games get artificially high reviews.

Drunken I agree , I bought MGS last week , it's a good game a but repetitive but it's not amazing , it might just be me but I don't think it deserves the praise it's getting.
My favourite game this yer was Until Dawn.

@hobo, no surprise there then.
It's when you see COD games getting great reviews for the same old everytime, and a masterpiece of atmosphere like this getting ignored it grates a bit.
Dark room, volume up. My missus game home from work and freaked out when I was playing it, couldn't stay in the room. To be fair, it's so nerve shattering and intense that I could only do an hour at a time.

It's funny as I was one who hated all the cutscenes in 4, and in all honesty the thing I find missing the most from mgsV is a really good engaging story. But I am with you hobo although I am enjoying the game I am finding so much of it pretty repetitive , again I will say let me finish the game as I'm only 18% through, and not done too much of the story only the first 13 misdions and quite a few ops, but game clock was showing 35 hours so I have put a fair chunk in there. I really need to give alien another run, unfortunately farcry 4 grabbed my attention and I subsequently forgot about alien, and if you ask me this needs to be patched for vr!

I didn't think it was that scary.
Played it on the hardest setting too, I found the Alien to be more annoying than anything else most of the time.
He would just randomly teleport over the map and drop down right on your head.
I couldn't even use lockers to hide in as he would sniff me out 99% of the time, became very frustrating.
I am not saying I didn't enjoy the game, because I actually loved it but the Alien became predictable in his random teleportations over the map, if you know what i mean.
Anyone who played this on the hardest setting will understand me.
I ended up having to crouch around the entire game otherwise he would hear me and even then if I moved too fast while crouching he would hear me - which was quite tense I must admit
One problem I have with the game was there were not enough "boss" moments, the entire game was just.. go here do that, go there do that. I do like a game with some good bosses at the end of some missions.
I give it 7/10

I said about the repetitiveness of mgs a few weeks ago. If you stick with it, the story is actually very good. It just takes a lot to get there.

It does become more engaging in act 2 with a lot of the characters plot lines coming to an end. A few more cutscenes aswell although only around 5 mins long per scene

That cut scene where it says "Coming up in Act 2" or something makes it look absolutely incredible, then all the good bits happen in about 5 minutes
Really disappointed with the last part of the game tbh, no decent/difficult end missions, no good endings to storylines

So an article about Alien Isolation turned into an article about MGS
Is it worth buying?

MGS? Yes, definitely worth buying
