Hodgson, Rodgers and Klopp.

Dunno about anyone else out there, but the general feeling I'm sensing and getting myself is the appointment of Klopp feels altogether different than the other two.

It's something that feels right, almost like a welcome back but of course he's never had any affiliation with the club.

Where Hodgson just felt plain wrong, and Rodgers was 'palatable' to use the phrase, Klopp feels just absolutely right.

Anyone else feeling the same?

Just properly excited to see what Klopp can bring us.

Not really.

Fans know the current limitations of our squad.

Nobody is going to be expecting titles straightaway.

People will expect a top 4 challenge (note challenge not definitive place), and will expect us to be better in Europe than we ever looked under Rodgers.

I was fortunate enough to live in Dortmund during Klopp's greatest years and watched Borussia Dortmund regularly and can safely say you have just acquired a great manager. Klopp is a huge motivator, a great tactician, charismatic, energetic, very witty and has that rare quality that makes players want to give their all for him. He is very intelligent, modest and demands much more from his players than most managers. He worked miracles at Dortmund, back to back titles over Bayern, the Cup and a CL Final.
Liverpool have made a great appointment.
Good luck to you and good luck to Klopp, the Prem is better for him.

Hodgson was just a strange appointment, to me it had a short term feel. Admittedly I didn't think for one minute it would be as short term and bad as it turned out to be but there you go.

Rodgers was an interesting appointment to me but it had the feeling of second choice, maybe worse. Strong rumours of approaching Klopp at that time and him turning us down. Strong rumours of the owners wanting Klinsmann and him turning us down to stay in the US. Then there appeared to be some support for both Martinez and AVB.

Rodgers came out with the job but it didn't feel like a decisive process to me, especially when the Director of Football / no DoF thing.

Klopp feels like we've landed our top choice. It's been decisive, it's been quick and he has the pedigree for a job of this size.

Hopefully we've located a manager who won't need to do anything other than win on the pitch to win over the fans.

This description put in in mind of Bill Shankly.

No idea what he will bring but I had to react to that thought.

I liked Rodgers so I get no pleasure in seeing him leave, however Klopp is the very best replacement available and I'm sure he will be a massive influence on the club.
