Am I missing something ?
Not a bad game by any means but nothing special. Admittedly I've only played it a couple of hours but so far it's just a fairly straightforward third person stealth/shooter game.
The graphics are very nice and there is an easy to follow story but so far I'm not seeing where this is supposedly one of the best games of the modern era, according to some anyway. Just seems a bit repetitive and quite honestly a bit depressing as a gaming experience.
Does it get better if I give it more time ?

yeah fair point, a telltale game actually has more gameplay because your decisions will make a difference to the story youre watching
In TLOU youre stuck on the traintrack, patiently waiting for the right moment to sneak through a map to the next cutscene
Maybe on hardest difficulty it requires skill and perseverance but even COD's laughable campaign modes have that - to me someone's enjoyment of TLOU all depends on their attachment to the characters and story... all about repetitively sneaking your way past another clicker/raider so you can get to the next cutscene demonstrating how hard life is in this mushroom apocalypse

The Last of Us is a great game. The game makers can create amazing visuals, game play and characters but its ultimately down to you and how much you want to throw yourself into that universe.
