Initially didn't like it too much, but persevered and it got better. Still not best of the generation for me, I'd take dead space over it any day. But it's still a very good game.
Same. I dont understand what the fuss is about.
How far are you in, OP?
Fantastic game but first 2 hours were fairly dull, my main (and pretty much only) criticism of it is it's slow start
I think it starts getting awesome about halfway through. I need to really play it through again... the ending is incredible.
Technically a very very good game, storywise also very good, but certainly more a Schindlers List than Commando. Its a slow burner, and the second half is much better imo, have you finished it Superb? Though i prefered tomb raider on original release date.
Yeah I'm only a couple of hours in which is why I wanted to get some opinions to see if it's worth carrying on.
It's certainly not a bad game so far but I was just expecting so much more based on the incredible reviews and game of the year status etc.
Also found the controls a bit clunky and didn't particularly like the aiming when shooting. I've played a lot of first and third person shooters and didn't think that element of the game stood up very well to others I've played.
Aiming when shooting is deliberately wonky from the start, you improve it by upgrading your skills.
It certainly improves as you get going, stick with it is my advice
Am I missing something ?
Yes
Superb ..
same as mate ...
have played as far as joel getting strung upside down ...but ive been bored to tears with it and cant understand the hype around it...
Last of Us is one of those games you should just reserve judgement on until you finish it.
I think it was very good, but it was definitely overrated, certainly not the greatest game of its generation/all time.
Most people don't really like the start but by the end love it. Just stick with it
amazing graphics at the time, amazing setting, storyline, character development and gameplay. I loved it from start to end, completing it twice.
Not missing anything, plays like a telltale game

No.........no it doesn't, may not be every ones cup of tea but there are a few places in which the game is very hard, and revolves around your skill, sorry but your comment strikes me as some one who has never played it and just watched a couple of YouTube vids
How's it going Superb you put any more time into it?
Anyway the telltale games are amazing. Well the ones I've placed at least.
yeah fair point, a telltale game actually has more gameplay because your decisions will make a difference to the story youre watching
In TLOU youre stuck on the traintrack, patiently waiting for the right moment to sneak through a map to the next cutscene
Maybe on hardest difficulty it requires skill and perseverance but even COD's laughable campaign modes have that - to me someone's enjoyment of TLOU all depends on their attachment to the characters and story... all about repetitively sneaking your way past another clicker/raider so you can get to the next cutscene demonstrating how hard life is in this mushroom apocalypse

Not yet Simon. Will definitely give it another go although not too optimistic that I'll feel any different. Hope so though.
The Last of Us is a great game. The game makers can create amazing visuals, game play and characters but its ultimately down to you and how much you want to throw yourself into that universe.
