This was a game of two defences, a too lenient referee and a brilliant strike. QPR came to spoil and the ref let them get away with time-wasting and some brutal tackles. And 28000 saw things get even worse such that he had to show 9 yellow cards to keep control. Derby’s defence was rock solid and QPR were restricted to no threatening attempts. Shackell and Keogh were immense and Forsyth and Christie no less so. Forsyth was scythed down and seriously injured. On the ground with his arm raised reminiscent of Will Hughes earlier in the season. And the referee barely noticed the tackle. Keith Stroud has gathered a reputation for lots of bookings. I could tell him in a single sentence why he has to book so many. Later Warnock, who had performed really well in Fossie’s place, was knocked unconscious by an elbow to his face. When he eventually recovered he was too groggy to continue. He is not believed to be seriously injured. Chris Baird took his place.
Though Derby dominated, the first half was dull because the two teams blotted each other out and there was only one shot on target (Derby). The pep talk at half time seemed to work and Derby came out with much more purpose. Andreas Weimann was a handful they could not contain. He was too quick and lively in spite of not being protected by Stroud and after Butterfield had hit the inside of the post, Keogh provided an a chance which Weimann converted.
As usual there were several MOTM’s. Weimann, Russell, Keogh, Shackell, Christie, Hendrick. I don’t know how to choose. Hansen was sound when he came on as was Chris Baird. Derby have truly an awesome squad as evidenced by the above list. As I read somewhere last week, there is not one Forest first team player who would make it onto the Derby Bench. I know the form book is supposed to be of no importance for local derby games, a severely embarrassing score-line should occur even if the game is at the Shatty Ground.
No news yet about Forsyth’s injury but Warnock is OK and his performance when he did play suggests he will fill the Forsyth gap very well. It is a pity Rupert has picked Friday night for the Forest game. Another day would help in the recovery stakes.
Finally Forest lost again, again, again.
For Those who Could not Attend.

But in the case of Weimann, he wasn't a first team regular and still he was written off as a waste of money.
When he does get his chance, he takes it and in doing so will hopefully make Ince up his game, when he gets his chance again.
Better for the team all round.

I've heard Lowe is injured so an emergency loan might be needed.

Vidal asks -- Why do fans make snap judgments on players based on nothing at all?
Humans in all walks of life do just the same vidal. Not just football fans. Warnock disappointed many fans with his first appearance for getting sent off. Later he played some pretty poor games. But last night he had a really good game until he was elbowed and many on these pages saw that and accepted it. He will now be viewed in a different light.
Admitted 666 has made his mind up about Keogh and will not change it whatever happens but I think he is in a totally different class of his own.

No problem with opinions being expressed, just the categorical finality of the judgments which are given. I am more than happy to hear or to give an opinion that a player hasn't had a decent game, but when you read that a player is useless or should never be allowed to wear a Derby shirt again and it is based upon a couple of games then it's just nonsense. Curiously, those of us who do make such definitive pronouncements rarely have the class to admit that they have made berks of themselves when a player subsequently does well for us. It's as if their ego can't stand it.

As far as back up at left back is concerned we should use an academy player if there is one anywhere near first team standard. We never regretted introducing Hughes or Bennet or Hansen. At the same time we need to look at who is out there as a back-up. At that time we should weigh up the options and choose the better one.

Hi Ramdini....Good summation apart from one glaring omission from last nights entertainment..........The non appearance of Rammie for the second half after he was taking the urine out of the useless linesman.

I always judge a player on what I see. All footballers have off days but if poor performances are a regular occurence then the player has to improve part of their game or we get rid of them.
Last season Christie and Forsyth were poor for different reasons but this season they have improved that part of the game which was letting them down.
Weimann ran around like a headless chicken when brought on as sub until the second half against Huddersfield. Now his running into space has some purpose.
Butterfield was trying over ambitious shots and passes when he arrived but is now more effective by only shooting and making long passes when the need arises.
Other players such as Sammon never changed their game, possibly because they did not have the ability, so you eventually lose patience with them.

I often feel the same way about you Spart.

Part, who has lost patience with Sammon? He is honing his considerable skills and I have no doubt he has a significant role still to play. The Fish scores with parts other players can't even reach
