place could be the opportunity to put the squad right.
How the club handle this could well be the pivotal point in the Abramovich era.
Options,
Sack Jose before the seasons out , blame the screw up on him.
Keep Jose in place but insist on a top four finish , doing nothing about this poor squad, risking failure and then consider sacking Jose at the end of the season.( risk him walking because we are a basket case)
Accept a top four finish is a difficult order with this squad and the quality of the other contenders for this spot.
Start right now sorting the squad , blending some of our quality youth players and looking to the Europa league route to Champions league football, whilst backing the manager ,taking off the pressure and accepting the fck up that the club has created.
Personally i really believe something on the latter is the only way forward as we could run into the serious possibility of having an owner who doesn't know how to take the club forward.

Failure to get a Champions league

Maybe I'm in the minority but I couldn't give a flying fig about getting CL this season at this point.
Ifarka I'm with you here that the priority is addressing the squad and big changes will need to be made over the next two transfer windows.
Hopefully we can also use the remainder of this season to integrate the likes of Kenedy, Ruben etc as well.

How do you think you will do that Superb without Champions League money or the offer of Champions League football to prospective targets ? The hierarchy spoke last week of complying with FFP so Abramovich funding a whole lot of transfers would be inconsistent with that.
I worry about Arsenal finishing top 4 as well with the injuries we have and Liverpool improving and Spurs on a roll.

Dont worry GUNNER you got top 3 sown up unless Leicester do an Atletico on steroids.
Liverpool are too inconsistent and Spurs don't have the squad depth to keep this up all season, Poch system is demanding and for all their athleticism their is not much in the way of creativity.

Really Gunner ?
There's more money than ever now in the PL so not getting the CL money for one season really won't be a huge problem at all. Especially if we make sure we're back in it the following season.
As for attracting players we're still in a very good position to attract many of the best players around with the prestige of playing for Chelsea in the best league in the world in the best city in the world. Not to mention getting paid a huge wage for the privalege.

muppet its not a squad of 25 international footballers, as per usual go and do your home work instead of gobbing off as the norm.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's still a squad of 25 like everyone else. I know you're fairly illiterate, it's well documented, so I'll let go that you can't interpret the statement.
You have lots of international footballers. The squad size is 25 like everyone else. Saying it's small is erroneous.
