Talk About "Begrudging"

Take it not many on this board have heard the term “Credit where credit is due," then?

Since nobody else is posting an article saying it (probably because most of you were talking too much trash about him before the game). I will, see I don’t slate him so won’t be left looking like a stupid hypocrite when I say…

WHAT A PERFORMANCE BY ONE OLIVIER GIROUD!!! 4 Shots, 4 shots on target, 3 goals. I don’t think there's an Arsenal player currently, whom deserved a hat-trick last night as much as he did. I don’t want to hear the word “Monaco," again lads/lasses. That corpse got well and truly buried last night and in quite some style I might add. He was brilliant. Now it was obviously not a solo act. He had help from a “To the man," magnificent performance. EVEN WENGER turned tinker. We looked shaky at first, he swapped Walcott and Campbell and that was that.

I will post another article for the team and Le Prof later though. This one is solely for Giroud because you haters are all too tight to put your hands up and admit he’s made you all look proper silly. Can’t think if he’s now 13 in 13 or 15 in 11 (Was 10 in 12 or 12 in 10 at kick off). Whichever way you want to cut it, he’s a minimum of a goal a game so far and he came up big trumps (against the odds) for your team last night.

So don’t hate…APPRECIATE!!!

Props to da O.G

He is good, Digby but wasnt right for yesterday's game. We need Theo back and he needs games now.

Yesterday it was all about Oli. Hope on another day it's all about Theo.

Last night he done mostly what he always does. The difference was the team played with him brilliantly. Last night we actually tailored our game to Giroud instead of playing and totally forgetting he's not Theo. The team set 'em up and he knocked 'em down.

We have done this loads of times and in the big games it doesn't work because good teams can actually defend against those tactics. The only big game that ever came close to paying dividends was vs Spurs and he missed 3 sitters.

Not denying there have been game in the past where he missed a chance here and there. Question sometimes is what is a chance you have to score or is it a chance you could have scored. And add to this that all players sometimes miss chances.

It's obviously a good Habit on our board that if we dont win or having the result that was expected he is always the reason we failed. I am fed of this shiiiit. He has his limitations and he is not world class like Aguero but he is by no means the donkey for everyone whenever we fail. Wish you and some others here analyse games more objective and leave out the bias.

GT - You are the one showing bias, not me. I never held him responsible for any dropped points. The only game I would place most of the blame on us not winning was vs Zagreb. Other poor results have been down to the team and manager as a hole not performing, and vs Chelsea it was down to the ref.

I have warmed to Giroud over the last year, think he is a good asset for the squad to have. He clearly is not top quality though and it's obvious why he gets criticism.

We hardly played like that last season. Even at our best last season, our passing and ball retention was shocking by Arsenal standards (quite possibly the worst season ever for possession and misplaced passes). It's only this season that we have began to again look like Wenger's Arsenal. The passing just wasn't there last season.

On Wed night, once they settled, we saw what we've become used to in terms of our passing game. Giroud is heavily reliant on our passing game working well. If the team is unsettled and misplacing everything, so does he. With us getting our act sorted passing-wise and Campbell in the side regularly, I'm betting Giroud is going to leave egg on quite a few faces on this board this season. He'll get 30 or dam close. Regardless of whether it's Theo that starts more or him.
