Time for Lennon to Go

There has been a lot of goodwill for Lennon in the BEN and on other websites but surely with a record of one win in the last 26 its time for him to move on and let someone in the back room staff to run the first team until a take over has been completed.

He has the worst record of anyone in the top four divisions.

What sealed it for me was a couple of shots during the televised Brentford game when he was shown sat slumped in his chair even after we had equalised and were well on top. The old Lennon would have been in the technical area barking orders; I'm afraid he has given up and the team are not playing for him.

As i.say lpp. That stat is my gripe. It isnt good enough imo irrespective of the off field activity. I never said theyd be unaffected. 1 in 27 usnt good enough

I see I managed to rattle you cage. I think you know it was a typo and you also know what I meant to type.

If we are going to start pulling contributors up for every small mistake they make when typing , you are going to be very busy reading all the typos you make.

I'm confused I only replied once on this thread at the beginning which basically said there isn't going to be any decision on Lennon anytime soon I didn't mention the managers performance. Yet I'm mentioned several times days after.

Oh Yeh Swie i fully know it was a typo - but i think extra special effort should be made to spell the word thick when calling someone thick. You can pull me up on all my typos if you wish. You will be very busy....coz as you know...im thick.

You havent really rattled my cage in all honesty. I dont really take this too seriously, i try to come on here and lend perhaps a different perspective, even to the point of playing devils advocat. I dont see victory in trying to belittle someone, or "win" (whatever that means) discussions. Its a discussion forum, not debatem so there is no victory, its just a few people talking to each other

You refer to not being able to take me seriously - the crooks of it are - i dont see the financial structure and the debt as a figure being all that alarming at BWFC - interestingly there is an article on the lion of vienna - which i pretty much agree to in full, i also view Gartsides tenure as being mostly succesful - i accept there have been failings, but i also believe success doesn't bring the rewards it should, and that lack of success punishes heavily, which is why we are in the predicament we are in, not because of an inherently bad man, or bad businessman.

I also think lennons position should be questioned after 1 win in 27.

i dont think either of those are ridiculous or far out and distant opinions.

More importantly tho, i dont think your opinion is far away. Do you know why....the facts available to us, are quite sparse, and we just have differing opinions. I choose not to level vitriol towards gartside because of that. you are entitled too - i wont hold it against you.

Alright guys, please can we all just take a step back and a deep breath before this thread starts to look like it belongs on admin1's favourite forum?

Whatever our feelings about Lennon and the club we all want what's best for BWFC. Clegg, I fully understand your stance on the stat but I think it needs to be taken in a much wider context. I have said for some time that many of our players are simply not good enough and that any manager would struggle to succeed with that squad. I believe Neil will be at least as unhappy as you and I are with the current table and I would be willing to bet he'd have got rid of as many of the current crop as possible while signing some genuine quality in the summer if he'd had even fairly modest amounts of money to do it with but he hasn't. Look at the latest fiasco with that lad from Wolves. He got the deal done because the board said he could then they turned around and pulled the plug on him at the last moment.

I believe that in the long term interests of the club Neil Lennon is the best man for the job of managing and rebuilding the squad. I cannot think of anyone who would do a better job who would actually want to take it and I honestly think that appointing Neil may well turn out to be one Gartside decision we all have reason to be grateful for in the end.

I would add a caveat though and it's this. Once our fate is sorted, be it via admin or a takeover I would give Neil one full transfer window (hopefully this summer's) and review his performance at Christmas. If things are not markedly better in terms of results and performances then I'd part company. However I am certain that with both a stable club and some resources to use Neil will prove to be the man we need.

Well you got that right.

devils advocate (notice the spelling), you must be having a laugh. You mean every word you write.

I know Gartside has made bad mistakes and as far as the truth is concerned, he really isn't to be trusted, but as far as him being an inherently bad man, you can't find any comment from me insinuating that he is. However, despite what you think about Gartside, he has been an inept Chairman. I needed say anymore, just look at the state of the club.

As I have stated before, regarding Neil Lennon, He is the only manager that I can remember who has not had a penny to spend, so if you are going to criticizes him you should compare him to a manager who has been in the same situation he finds himself in.

It very magnanimous of you not to hold my opinions against me.
