Utd board

Looks like lvg gonna stay for a while.

Man Utd have yet again rejected José Mourinho after a request from Bobby Charlton to have full faith in LVG. [De Telegraaf].

If Jose takes the job will family guy stay as no 2?

The part that said that he was ready to go again. And the part that said he was going to stay in England. The part that said he will just attend smaller games until he gets his next job, so as to not put pressure on any top flight manager.

Yeah all of that. That strongly suggests to me that he has his eyes very firmly set on an English club job. Can't imagine which job that could be. But yeah, I'm probably reading too much into it....

If that's not enough, maybe him deliberately pointing out that Roman is the only person to ever sack him (twice) might suggest to you that he isn't happy about it and wants to prove him wrong and wants to do it directly and quickly.

Can't see why he might (will) be our next manager yet?

I don't get it, biggest reason he doesn't want Mourinho is because he only sticks around for three years, yet LVG is on a three year contract which he doesn't seem to have any intention of extending if the opportunity was presented to him.

I don't know how they come up with this stuff.

There's no such thing as a long term manager now. Football has moved in a direction of three year cycles. Wenger is the last of a (sadly) dying breed.

I suppose that it would be easier to fire LVG even though that will not solve the problem on the field.

The problem on the field is a direct result of his abysmal management. He's left us with the smallest squad in the OL, we have mustered a total of 9 shots on target in our last 4 games. We had 70% possession yesterday with one shot on target.

Why are people defending this man? He's doing nothing right. I dread watching us atm. And he didn't even achieve the bare minimum last year. As Ed clearly stated that 3rd was the expectation.

Charlton is right though as there is negative baggage with Mourinho,as evident with his handling of the Eva situation. It was a nothing situation which he purposefully made something out of to take the pressure away from his own inabillities.

Mourinho didnt just drag himself down into the gutter but also Chelsea football club.

I just dont want that kind of character at the club, sorry.

Not a MUFC fan myself but I agree with this 100%
really can't see why so many people here would want Jose after recent events - DAMAGED GOODS

Genius

I'm not for one second condoning the way Jose reacted towards Eva and he was out of order but at the same time he had strict instructions that she went against.

--------------------------------------------
What utter bollux, Jose did not order the physios NOT to go on the field, they were waved on by the ref and thus did their job.
The ref standing over an injured player thinks the doctors should attend but the manager in the dugout thinks he knows otherwise - what a kn0bhead

I can't help but like José, I always have, but I can't defend him over the Eva thing. It looks to me like he needed a scapegoat when things were going wrong and was then too proud to back down.

I could be wrong, of course, but that's how it seems to me.
