Spurs 7 Inter Milan 1

Firstly, what a pleasure it was this afternoon to see a Spurs side give such an impressive display of attacking football to ruthlessly destroy Inter Milan.

Secondly, it was also a real pleasure to see a Spurs number 9 play with a great work ethic and real enthusiasm. I am of course talking about Souleymane Coulibaly who was outstanding today and thoroughly deserved his two goals. In addition to his goals, he showed strength, aggression and won corners and free kicks out of nothing simply due to his willingess to work hard for the team. We look to have found a real talent here. He is as strong as an ox ad looks to have the heart of a lion. I doubt anyone who was there today will forget his genuine pace and finish for his first goal.

Spurs gave the Italians a real lesson in pass and movement and had the game sealed up after a 3 goal spell in the opening 15 minutes when they mercilessly ripped them apart time after time. Tomislav Gomelt had 3 shots and scored with all of them before conceding a penalty for which he was harshly shown the red card.

With the excellent Alex Pritchard and the outstanding Massimo Luongo pulling the strings in midfiled, Spurs piled forward and went into the break 6-1 ahead.

Down to 10 men for the second half, the tempo dropped but Coulibaly was unlucky not to add more goals and Spurs took the opportunity to use all 3 subs, including a decent debut from Cristain Ceballos and also the wonderfully named Horacio Cristian Olaya.

A good result, a great display and nice to see first teamers such as Kyle Walker and Andros Townsend there to give these yoiungsters support.

The RDBD finishes with his client in a couple of weeks (and begins a 3 month hibernation) .

With that in mind, and my disgust at ratboy etc, I think I'll go and see as many of these home games as I can before back to work again.

Perhaps ratboy will also be there, to remind him of those who would kill to play in the first 11 for a fraction of his current wages.

I hope Redknapp don't F up the cup competitions.

I really want all these kids to get as much playing time with as much of the '25' as possible, while the best 11 get on with the PL business.

Good. That is two games I should get to see.

And I'll feel better about cheering on those starting out on the Spurs odyssey, than wastes like 2m Peter.

RDBD - If you are able to get to the home games, it's well worth the effort. Sherwood has got a talented bunch here who today showed a passion for the shirt, which some first teamers would do well to take on board. They close down, they chase back and they had too much for Inter Milan in every area of the pitch.

Spurcat :

I think I should just go because I can.
Show the kids their efforts are acknowledged while they toil on some dreary autumn day.
