Im sorry but what was Garde playing at today ?? Yes it's the Christmas period and some players may need rotating but the changes he made we wrong plain and simple. The defence has been a lot better in recent games so why change it ?? People might say Lescott is old and Okore has fitness problems but im sure they could have still managed to play today. And Richardson starting ? The guy is a championship player at best !! We are certainly down now but Garde got it soo wrong today !!

I'm suprised that you are suprised by Sinclair. If you remember, we had him on loan the season before you took him on and he was absolutely gash and we couldn't send him back to City quick enough.
I remember you guys getting pretty excited when he joined Villa despite our warnings, which was put down to sour-grapes.
Then there's Lescott... £2m.....
You reap what you sow, guys.

Don't think our squad is that bad. Stick Delph and Benteke back in and we'd be fine, even with a questionable defence. OK none of the squad are top 6 material, but you could say that about most PL teams. What we haven't got are those 2 or 3 key players who make a difference. Think the main issues are:
Defence: Lescott+Okore are OK (hope Okore's injury isn't serious), Clark OK as backup, but Amavi injured is a huge blow. Dim is to blame for leaving us with no proper backup to Amavi. Hutton is a dodgy defender and so is Richards.
Midfield: Somebody who can do what Sanchez is supposed to do would make a huge difference.
Attack: We need an out and out goalscorer and haven't got one. Ayew is worth his place but he can't do it on his own.
Sort those out and we'd improve enough to compete seriously in the PL. It's the odd goal (missed or given away) in most matches which has sunk us.

I think the summer will see a complete overhaul the like we haven't seen before.
The current situation has echoes of 86/87 in that we have a disjointed side with so much inexperience.
You look at that side with the likes of Steve Hunt, Stainrod, Spink, Evans, Gray (all who were experienced but underperformed) and the youngsters we had - Dorigo, Keown, Gallagher, Glover, Aspinall, Robinson.
Whilst I like Garde I would feel a whole lot better with someone like Pearson in charge to oversee a rebuild.
The job he did at Leicester (starting in league 1) is all the proof you need that he can oversee a rebuilding job, which Villa ultimately need.

Gotta make the best of a bad situation, I'm not convinced Albion fans are looking forward to another season of coming 11th-16th while watching Pulis but we'll see.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Paddy, it's not been great of late, but anyone would rather be mediocre and safe in the Premier League under Tony Pulis than bottom and 11 points adrift, that's a given, and if Albion continue to play like we did against Newcastle, there are much happier times ahead for us Baggies fans.
It's a shame your squad isn't at the point where, if it's not quite good enough for the Premier League, it's certainly too good for the Championship. That's what Albion's reputation as a yo-yo club was founded on until we managed to get strong enough to stay in the PL - the footballing gods willing - without a chairman throwing in millions of his personal wealth.
