With this season officially a write-off, all thoughts are now turning to the summer (for what it's worth - Evans may well be chopped and Cellino banned again)...
But got me thinking about what we should be aiming for transfer-wise. Here's what I think we can realistically aim for on the opening day of next season.
Silvestri
Berardi Bellusci Cooper Taylor
Dallas Diougara Cook X
X-X
Peacock, Bamba, Coyle, Mowatt, Carayol, Doukara, Wood
(Murphy, Phillips Erwin & Botaka as back-up options / on loan)
Sell – Wooton, Turnbull, Ant, Sloth
That would leave us with decent players to select if form forces them into contention and tactical flexibility to drop a striker for Mowatt to come in and three different types of attackers as impact subs.
Those three signings are going to cost us – will we get 10m to spend or will it be Billy Sharp, Ramon Nunez and Tomasso Bianchi again?
Is this realistic? What would be your target this summer?

If the budget is getting cut, which has been suggested, the money for bridcutt, which won't be cheap, can be better spent elsewhere
But if the budget is decent, totally agree with you

At cente back id go Steve cook at Bournemouth as his contract is up and he has featured for them regular.
Right age, can double up as. Rightback and more importantly helped to get them out tho league.
Probably way, way out of our league to be fair...how depressing is it saying that about a Bournemouth player...

MattyP is Cook playing on a regular basis for Bournemouth?

25 games this season.
He is very much a first teamer

You may be right.
If you had Dave and Bridcutt I think you could make it work with 3 attacking midfielders/wingers in front of them.
But Cook is not and Dallas doesn't score either.

Looked as defensive as ever with Dave & Bridcutt, so he has a point. Of the two based on what I've seen Dave looks the better player to have sat in front of the defense.

I said when dave was joining hat I thought 2 defensive midfielders was too defensive.
There are hardly any goals in the side anyway, we really miss miwatts contribution from last season.
We're stuck with Wood for another 3 years, desperately need someone more prolific.

If Bridcutt goes, Cook could take his role in this formation and allow a proper attacking mid to play.
I know Wood isnt a world beater, but we missed him a lot since his injury. He was criticised for missing chances but at least we were creating and he was making the runs. We haven't made chances like that often with Doukara. I think getting a striker in to compete with him is the way forward, not trying to get rid. He got promoted with Leicester after all and played a part

The Championship has moved massively forward and we have not caught up.
Teams spending £5m+ on single players. This is just to keep check with the top 6. We are way way behind these teams.
Look how much Sheffield Wed, Boro, Derby Burnley...et all have spent.
We are no where near this.
Only one way we are heading....

I think with a stable owner / manager we could get players for less money, I know if I was a player I ask myself, would I go to Leeds over anyone else offering me the same money? Sadly it's no so we have to go around over other teams to get players.
I believe having Cellino as the owner and dictator he himeslf pushes the price up of the players he wants because of the way he is, I know if I went to work for a crackpot I'd want more money to do so.
As long as we have Cellino I do not think it matters what target lists we have etc, no manager will be ever given the trust / respect to build a team under Cellino, no manager will get us promoted with Cellino as owner.
