Could we buy Bale back

Unfortunately I again find myself agreeing with chronic

This in itself cause me more upset than I felt when Bale left.

I have argued for years on here (and the old 606) that football was not all about buying the best players around. Great managers BUILD great sides, like Bill Nick did for us back in the 60's.

Compare Athletico with Real out in Spain for a start. Real for years have bought bought bought and Athletico have built. Still nto a lto to choose between the two sides other than the wage bill of course.

I loved Bale when he was with us and he was fantastic but we have changed and he has moved on. Still a great player but I am more than happy with the way things are at Spurs at the moment and have no wish for us to take a backward step.

Not only that but since Bale moved to Real he has spent half his life injured ffs so for me its a no.

More or less what the both of you are saying is that if we do hit the heights we all hope wish for and a big player becomes available you would turn him down for fair of upsetting dressing room harmony or team chemistry. Even uniteds class of 92 needed the odd world class sprinkle from season to season. You mention athletico building instead of buying? Mandzukic, greizzman, turan, Koke all weren't cheap. As were many of their other players. I understand what your getting at though, peanuts in comparison to Real.

we are developing our own world class talents…

not there yet but plenty of players in this squad have the ability to go on and become world class.

Even still, when some of them reach that level, in my opinion a major signing every summer or second summer is the way to stabilise the squad and improve the overall marketability of Tottenham Hotspurs FC worldwide.

Koke came through their academy, Mandzukic was £15m.

after you labelling anyone who wouldn't take him on a free pathetic, I gave a perfectly valid reason why that statement is silly.
