Could we afford him yes will it happen a definite no
Due to the stadium move costs there is no chance Spurs will be in the position to afford a player in the price range Bale would command.
Highly unlikely to happen
Whilst I would welcome him back, his return might well destabilise the whole structure within the squad.
His sary would be immense & certainly far in excess of any of our current players.
He would also cost us a similar fee to the one we received for him, and that in itself would be prohibitive
No team other than City or United could afford Bale - he'd be £100,000,000 at least!
Money isn't the issue , I wonder if we realise how much money the new stadium and NFL deal would bring in...
If we want to be a big club we have to act like one..

Can win far more at RM or other bigger clubs around.
He cannot win the Prem at RM
You have to have faith in how much we can achieve at WHL
NO.
and after a coupla years at Madrid he's probably a right by now....
don't want him back.
having star players seems totally against the ethos of what Poch is building.
wages and fee would smash all our records. not worth it because quite frankly hes not that good - he wont guarantee you any trophies - he aint messi

money is the issue.. assuming hes on 200k a week.. that smashes our budget and drags the wages of the whole squad upwards.
we don't have anywhere near the revenue of the clubs that pay those kind of wages.
its as daft as qpr paying 100k to players, and look where they ended up
He's playing (and often starring) for one of the biggest clubs in the world, and fair play to him.
Why would he want to come back Squid?
He took his career to the next level and he's a big success out there. I don't get it
OK
How much cash do we have...None of us know
How many of you thought we would be about to win the Prem hmmmmmmm well a bloody good chance of winning it
Levy is a genius with him running the club anything's possible
£100m is too costly for a single player - he could get injured and its all gone and also the team would more or less have to evolve around him rather than a collective.
Theres a lot you can do for that money instead. You could potentially buy Aubameyang and Reus for £100m. Id rather that then just Bale.
So its a no from me. Although (in an unlimited money scenario) I would welcome him back, ive got nothing against him leaving.
squid.
you are a smart man - I am sure you can see the implications of paying one player a sum that will surely be over double what the next earner gets - imagine if we win the league, then put a player on 200k, 250k a week, suddenly the rest of the squad will be saying "hang on we just won the league without this guy, I must be worth 200k myself"
and before you know it you have trouble.
Poch is building a team - big stars smashing wage budgets doesn't seem to be what we are about - and I prefer it this way. I like every single member of this current side more than I ever did bale or modric, because this side are leaving their hearts on the pitch every time, and backing it up with the quality - bale modric vdv and the rest featured regularly in two teams that completely blew league campaigns.

As a NON "club in crisis" . <FACT>
Nice comment Chronic , yes I am smart and it really does work out
City , Chelsea and United have players on a Mill a month but only one or two the others are on the same sort of dosh as the rest f the Prem
this deal may happen , who knows .....Maybe it will happen to coincide with the opening of thr new stadium
squid - do you want a bale type player though? a clear star? the spurs team at the moment is all about the team.
bale I suspect would want to be main man - there are no main men at spurs now. poch is the main man.
all the players are equals - we saw it in the celebrations on sunday - poch embraced michelle vorm in the same way he embraced dembele, and Kane...
On the wage front, we had a big ramp up the season we were in the CL.
Levy has been fighting annually since then to keep the wage bill on a plateau.
As others have said, even if the money was available, Bale is no Cantona or Messi who single-handedly drags a team to a league title.
Chronic
He still has many friends at Spurs , he doesn't look the type to be Billy Big Bolllllox ......Has anybody considered that RM may want shot of him or he may want to come home
squid
It will be some time before Spurs start to reap the benefits of the new stadium, and (like Arsenal) the club will have to make provisions to facilitate costs.
One of those requirements will undoubtably be via player trading. Although the new PL TV revenues suggest Spurs will not be financially inhibited to the same degree as Arsenal were.
However I wouldn’t be expecting any extravagant spending anytime soon.
His wages must be a pretty penny too.
