First of all, Robb, you are very quiet tonight. A bit concerned pal. Where are your articles? Please let us know you are ok today.
Anyways, I have just a few stats to share which I compiled from a quick check on BBC:
Man Utd record in 2016 (all competitions)
Results - WWDWLWWDLLWWW (8 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats)
Goals - 27 goals in 13 games (2.07 goals a game), scored 3 or more goals in a game 6 times already this year
Top Scorers - Rooney 7, Rashford 4, Lingard 4, Martial 3
Progress - last 16 of Europa League, Quarter finals of Fa Cup, 3 points of 4th place
Injuries - far too many to bother getting in to (sorry)
-----
Now I don't mean to say we are back, but thats pretty consistent form.
I would argue if we didn't have injuries or didn't conceeded sloppy last minute goals (chelsea/newcastle) then we would be sitting in top 4 right now. Obviously football doesn't work that way but you get the point - we have improved from a disastrous december.
The dire football and lack of goals seem a distant memory. Also our youngsters are kicking ass - Varela made Sanchez look ordinary today and Gabriel will have nightmares about Rashford.
Saving the best stat for last though:
No 0-0 scorelines in 2016
Just some food for thought for the LVG haters.

I was very impressed with you boys yesterday, you looked hungry and maybe that was because of the youth in the side but whatever it was it worked and yeah I was well impressed. Well done 👍👏

Interesting how Van Gaal's prepared to let the team express themselves now that there's no pressure on in the League.
Poor Arsenal though. No matter what the line up they fold like a broken deckchair every February.

I'm not excusing the football but the guy constantly stated the players were not moving the ball quicker or retaining possession well.
I do blame him though for letting it carry on for so long

The 0-0 games all came when we were entirely reliant for Rooney on goals, and he went through one of his inevitable dry spells he's experienced all through his career.
Van Gaal should be blamed for this crippling us as he sold all our other striking options in the summer.
Javier Hernandez AND Robin van Persie sold together in one window was ridiculous. Keep Chicharito, and when Rooney isn't scoring play them as a front two. Simple.

These performances further emphasise why we need to start looking long term without Wayne Rooney.
Rashford is still a kid and people need to not pile pressure on him but imagine for a second we had a striker like Lewandowski or Benzema instead of Rooney.
Never underestimate the qualities some players bring to the whole team.
Not saying Rooney is poor, the lad has played a lot of football. He has essentially had a football career. Been playing at the highest level for 14 years. Inevitable that he will start to taper off

The same applies to seeing Memphis play with confidence.

Agreed, suddenly we have multiple outlets in attack and can switch the play.

I think all 3 trophies are their for us but we need to win pretty much every game in the premierleague maybe affording a slip up draw in one.
We have seen it before Arsenal winning the title or Man Utd winning the title putting on a crazy run of form at the end from even out of the top 4.
