was a terrible terrible change by Poch.
I agreed with taking off Lamela as he was a red card risk, but as soon as I saw Mason was the man coming on i knew there would be problems.
The reason for this is that at that point of the game we were going for the kill - the third goal… or should have been. that change sent out the message that we were trying to tighten up and see out the game… handed the initiative back to arsenal.
it was a very very poor change. The move was to bring off Lamela and bring on another attacking mid - most notably Chadli.
That was a poor result. 2-1 v ten men and with all the momentum… win the game to go top… and to draw it was nonsense.
Lloris for the goal
Finally, Kyle Walker… i cannot believe there are still spurs fans who prefer this guy to Trippier.. he is a huge brain fart per game and i am still not sure how we haven't been punished yet this season by it….. today's episode was when he tried casually passing out of our own box and passed it straight to sanchez or ozil or whoever it was.
guy is a total liability and sooner or later he will cost us a crucial game.
However, that all said and done… if you take a step back we are still in a good position… disappointing week, and could use a favour from Watford, but we have two very tricky games out the way now and are still second.
Poor day at the office.

Did you not think when you were typing it "Hang on, this might come back to bite me?"?

Not to mention LLM's boasts that we'd beat West Ham and Arsenal easily
Think he's done his usual runner when one of his claims go horribly wrong.

I don't think its in Pochettino's mental playbook to "park the bus". Especially when the other side is down to 10 men.
As Harry Kane said later, "we should have gone for a third and a fourth goal."

I've got no idea what bringing on a CM for Lamela was trying to achieve other than shutting up shop.
When they brought Giroud on for Elneny it meant that Ramsey was tasked with the job of holding, which Arsenal fans will tell you he's useless at. By not having someone playing behind Kane at that point meant that we didn't test out how disciplined and smart he would be; if Eriksen got in behind Ramsay and drifted wide, would Ramsay see him and follow him, or just stay where he was and leave him untracked?
Instead bringing Mason on meant that he never had to worry about what was going on behind him, making a job that he's not particularly good at far easier than it could have been.
Really poor tactics there from Poch

Lamela had to go off before he was sent off.
So... Trippier or Chadli instead of Mason??
Is that your choice?

Exactly. You'd think people would learn lessons not to get too cocky and write off another team's chances. It was bad when it was about Arsenal and there was a huge gap, so it's even sillier to start having a go at teams that are above you.

Or perhaps you'd have put Son in for Lamela and not settle for 2-1?

You didn't notice Son and Chadli on the bench?
