It's The Final Countdown.......

To Europe Qualification!!!!

Another potential banana skin negotiated away at Watford yesterday. I have to say I expected a bit more from Watford but I thought we negated their tactics and individuals extremely well.

Adequate performances from many but again Mahrez and Kante were outstanding..... However I felt it was a dominant performance from Danny Drinkwater. Perfect timing as Woy was in the crowd, I really hope he gets a call up as I feel he deserves a chance to show what he can do at the next level. He is yet another proof that hard work and taking rejection at a "big" club doesn't mean that you have to give up hope on being a success.
Thank you Danny for everything you give week in, week out.

Now we have over a week to build up to the Newcastle game, I want to feel that it should be easier than the last 2 games but being a long time Leicester fan it's the sort of self inflicted Banana skin that we have experienced many times before.

It's now quite interesting as the teams below us will start to look over their shoulders as well as looking up towards us.

Now just a little bit about " opinions".....
We are still hearing some people saying " Leicester will fall away inevitably" well we have been hearing this since October and it's yet to happen. I hope these people carry on thinking this as it feels great to shove it back down their throats.
Then there are certain people who have an " expert" opinion on our style of play when they have hardly seen us play this season. Hoof ball, long ball, direct etc I have heard it all!!!!
You are all wrong and ill informed our style is called " successful"........ And it has got us 5 points clear.
Then it is said we are top as we " have had an easy run of fixtures"...... Well correct me if I am mistaken but we all play the same teams through the season so whoever is top deserves to be there. Easy run of fixtures is just an easy accusation to throw at a team performing better than your own.

There was also a comment made yesterday by a regular thorn in our side ( Arro's best mate 😉) that the " Leicester fans are already celebrating the title"........ What complete BS!!!!!! I haven't heard a single fan saying we have won the title, some people really do spout some rubbish to deflect away from their own sides failings.

Anyway it's another round of fixtures completed and our lead has been extended, the gap between 2nd & 5th closes up. What a fantastic title run in it's going to be.

Thank you Claudio and thank you to the whole squad, I never thought I would experience this in my lifetime. What a season 😃

So as an outsider, we understand, you were fighting for survival... somehow, the manager hadn't lost his team, and went on amazing run to survive....

so what happened when Claudio came in?
cos i do believe Pearson has to get credit, right?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was a Pearson fan and the job he did to get us to where we are now goes way beyond last season's great escape. He completely overhauled the squad and signed players with talent and a point to prove and he changed the atmosphere at the club and pulled it together.

I believe the Watford play off defeat was the catalyst to galvanising our squad and was the beginning of the spirit we see at the club now. Pearson did a great job keeping the belief in the players last season and we actually played well in all but three or four games but didn't get the rub of the green. We didn't lose by more than two all season but mostly by one.

It would have been easy for the players to give up but we were in every game we played last season, we weren't like Villa, it's just Pearson set us up wrong until the point he had no choice but to attack. I still believe that's down to Cambiasso but that's another story.

What Ranieri has done brilliantly is allow the players to carry on from last season and didn't overload them with his tactics when he first arrived. He trusted them and gained their trust and now his tactics are fully evident and the players know exactly what he expexts from them. We're so well drilled and very professional and that's all down to Ranieri.

His attention to detail is incredible and the way he sees the problem and finds the solution is simply remarkable. I don't remember seeing a team as versatile as this before, switching from 4-4-2 to 4-1-4-1 or 3-5-2 just looks so fluid and it always works and this unpredictability is what wins us games. The bloke is a genius.

Credit where it's due to Pearson but Ranieri is a different class and any success this season is ultimately down to him. We wouldn't be doing so well with Pearson because he's not as tactically astute.

Good point OTW, we're looking good for a shot at Europe at least.

I think Sandy is the biggest phallus, Cinci is just a naughty boy tittering while posting bogey words on the family computer

Both are equally ridiculous for different reasons.
