I think Rio Ferdinand is your moist overrated player - in fact, look at what you're winning without him - he's always injured. Vidic is the key to your defence, a fantastic player and the man to guide both Smalling and Jones to defensive greatness.

Ferdinand has always been loved for his composure on the ball but he has very few good central defensive attributes - least of all, his awful lack of concentration and feeble tackle.

I have look and i saw at least Chapion's league and Premier league trophies of 2008. He captained through and played his heart out. He is a special defender that goes half a season with no yellow card. Lack of concentration means yellow and red cards for being second best to the ball.

I also second the OP's point on Jones, seems the English factor is creeping fast and i hope not. The guy has potential please dont kill him with HYPE. Evans aside, i havent seen anything to suggest he's better than Smalling, but he seems to be the new John Terry partner (oh well).
Wilhsere should be aware of the england factor as well, <cough> walcott.

I agrree that Smalling is underrated. Dont understand why poeple seem to think Jones is so much better than Smalling when Smalling was actually better than Rio last season, in a season where we won the league and reached the CL final.

I actually only rememebr Smalling making a handful of mistakes all alst season whereas JOnes has already made a few in 2 games.

Wilshere is class and Im not going to kid myself just because hes a Gunner.

Nope I think he's an excellent defender and prospect and no where near overrated, however calling him the next England's captain is a bit premature. Give him like 3-5 years before labeling him the future England's captain

To be fair I did say he will be world class. Article couple of posts before mine. Uniteds best 11 ppl calling for rio to be dropped! When a good young England star comes to the fore he is killed by the press and the supporters. Jones is nowhere near as good as Terry, rio even phil jag. He will be as good as these but not yet. and why the dig at ando, you are one of those idiots who just can't appreciate true talent and wants everyone to believe you have superior judgement than the rest of us. Ando is a gifted footballer who needs a bit of luck with his injuries thats all, it's really a shame the way some united funs just attack him.

No dig intended at Anderson... I like anderson a lot. I like Evans a lot. I think Evans first touch is better than our best cm.
