Exactly who we need. Watching him pacing the touchline and drive the players and fans on last night shows us really what we are missing and what we need.....which is wenger out and a younger hungrier manager in.
He's been with athletico for a while and it just might be possible he will be willing to start a new adventure with us. Imo the board needs to do everything in their power to get Simone. He's teams have consistently played well every season and have pushed barca for the title almost every time. I am hoping the same £8m wenger gets will sway him to join us.
Wenger out and Simone in!!!!!!

I was reading something about Simeone (note the correct spelling OP. It makes you look a bit stupid when you cant even get the name right). He was saying that he looks for and tries to instil a winning mentality in his players. Something we seem to lack under Wenger. In fact its probably one of Wengers biggest weaknesses compared to other managers and a big part of the reason why so many teams see us as a team they can beat.

my comment about a counter attack is true though, why don't you admit that wump?. To be fair i don't know much about Carassco and he doesn't look very good. Give the guy time. It's not easy to replace Diego Costa's goals. Martinez flopped too.

My comments about Simeone have got nothing to do with our current team or manager. I've tried to watch his tram this season as have many la liga fans and have found them an absolute eyesore. Any regular viewer of Spanish football will probably say the same thing.

Carassco is actually a pretty talented wideman just not being properly utilized at the moment, when he gets on the pitch anyway. With the manager choosing to employ four holding midfielders in every game in a 442 there isn't much space for a traditional winger in the team. His persistence with Torres when he has other talented forwards in the team is annoying too.

He's also tried to turn Oliver Torres, one of Spain's most talented midfielders, into another workhorse in that dreadful 442 formation.

There are some right numpties here isn't it?
Moaning that Wenger is finished and we winning fekall and also moaning they won't like Simeone because of his style !
Simeone who can bring some silverware because he is doing something correct which Wenger can't do.
don't be that fussy we not Barcelona or Madrid to bring any manager on the earth we want...we will have to see who is available and bring them in...beautiful football my arrss...let us win something major first which is the priority than fekin beautiful football.

Simeone's a fashionable name, but I don't think he's cut out for Arsenal either.
Wenger was pretty unheralded at the time and worked out well for a few years, why are people bent on going for what's perceived as a top tier coach rather than someone more leftfield but who gets his teams playing some appealing footy.
I've not watched PSV much, but they seem to be doing very well domestically and punching above their weight in Europe. Cocu -Dutch school albeit not Ajax-- seems to be able to set them up according to what's in front of them with far lesser resources than his opponents.
Another shout would be Thomas Tuchel, who's basically followed in Klopp's footsteps, outdid his achievements at Mainz and is currently pushing Bayern in Germany more than anyone imagined or expected. His ppg ratio so far this season is higher than any of Klopp's seasons there bar their 2nd title-winning year.
Can't say any of those wold be the ideal fit, but Arsenal aren't in such a desperate situation that they need to switch to an exclusively results-focused manager, which Simeone is.
I don't even think a large portion of the fans - many of whom by now will have known little more than life under Wenger - would warm to his kind of football either, much less if it doesn't achieve results from the word go.
Nowadays, and even more so in transitional periods, it's much better imo to have a clear idea of how you want to play than deciding that winning is all that matters. Look at other big clubs, and you'll see how that's conducive to big sways in managerial appointments and, as a result, squads who aren't suited to the style they're expected to implement.
It's a vicious cycle that you don't want to get into.

Simone was known for her temper and frequent outbursts. In 1985, she fired a gun at a record company executive, whom she accused of stealing royalties. Simone said she "tried to kill him" but "missed".[37] In 1995, she shot and wounded her neighbor's son with an air gun after the boy's laughter disturbed her concentration.[38] According to a biographer, Simone took medication for a condition from the mid-1960s on.[39] All this was only known to a small group of intimates, and kept out of public view for many years, until the biography Break Down and Let It All Out written by Sylvia Hampton and David Nathan revealed this in 2004, after her death.
Do we really want Simone in charge with that kind of temper and lack of being alive? I'd go for someone like Ancelotti or whoever that Atletico Madrid manager is. But for my Simone is a poor choice.
