is an absolute muppet
between him and Lineker, you have a right pair of idiots. Unless Leicester get everything handed on a plate, then the whole world is against them
Shearer has the comfort of spouting absolute rubbish about referees as a pundit, yet if he was still in management, he'd be hauled up in front of the FA - TV pundits get away with murder - coming out with nonsense just in order to whip up a storm
As regards to the incidents he's referring in yesterday's match
1. Vardy, clearly dived - 2nd yellow, deserved to be sent off
2. Huth (especially) and Morgan were wrestling WHU players at every set piece throughout the game - they should have had more penalties than the 1 they got - Huth in fact should have been sent off for elbowing a WHU player in the throat
3. Vardy deserves to be banned for 3 games for his obnoxious outburst at the referee when getting sent off
As if the Referees don't have enough on their plate at present without thicko pundits like Shearer talking absolute tripe

I bet you now that Vardy gets away with abusing the referee with no further penalty. What he did was appalling for football, but the FA will want the fairytale to come true because it is publicity gold all around the world, and Vardy is the star of the show.

Or the FA could favour the London club and give Varney a 3 match ban. My hunch in on the latter.

Refs and managers should be given clear directives along the lines of if you do x it's a penalty, if you do y it's a booking before the season. A few games at the start of the season with 10 penalties and finishing 6 v 4 players on the pitch will soon ensure the managers get the message and sort their players out. This constant pressure on refs is just unfair, least paid person on the pitch by a country mile with by far the most high pressured and difficult job.

I don't think Varney will be doing as much diving in the future.

If you wish to criticise our players , at least spell their names right, Vardy not Varney.!!
This was of course the same ref who gifted you a pen against us at the City ground, sent off our keeper for nothing, and was i believe suspended for his performance.
i wish you lot well, but think you should get your own house in order first

It's a discussion board Thorney. Whether the referee was one who did x, y and z is incidental if you've seen the incident(s). Vardy did try to buy a penalty by purposely colliding with the defender, he's done it before that I've seen and got a penalty that time.
You can claim to be hard done by, but some don't think you were.

The issue was about consistency, though. If it was a penalty against Leicester there should have been ten Penalties in the game. And Vardy's first yellow was very wrong. But he shouldn't have gone off at the ref and if he gets a further ban it's deserved.
Also, after this very rev like article, I'd like to say welcome back rev.

It was his second foul though at a point in the game where the tackles were flying in.
The funny thing is that Leicester's first goal was after Huth did a more obvious foul in their area, then broke away down the other end

If you thought Shearer was talking garbage you should have heard Carragher on Sky Sports, he was basically kiss assing the ref, who Carragher claimed got everything right. The only thing anyone wants. Is consistency, not too much to ask surely.
