That is essentially how close we are, what an achievement it would be if Klopp manages to do it. Lets not forget we changed manager mid season and had an horrendous injury list (which is STILL carrying on).
Klopps first season (if it stopped now imo) could be seen as a success, we reached 1 cup final, semi final in Europe and beat the big sides in the league that BR couldn't seem to do post Suarez.
Klopp has been a breath of fresh air, if we avoid defeat in Villarreal then beat them back at Anfield what a carrot the CL berth is if you win the final! Obviously still plenty to do and Villarreal are a very good side, but there is no doubt we do have the tools to beat them.
A decent season well rounded of if:
We win the Europa
Leicester are crowned champions
Utd finish outside top 4
Palace beat Utd in the cup (dont like pards but dislike Utd more)
(ooohhhh...wonder what those odds are!!)
2 wins from a CL spot!

Just a response to the OP, so why get your panties in a twist.
It had nothing to do with you, so when GB gets you involved then feel free to look a fool......oops, too late

He means beating Villarreal and whoever the finalist may be in the EL.
Thereby entering the champions league for next season.
Everton would of course have no idea about such things.

I'd love Palace to win the cup
Pardew isn't everyone's cup of tea but he got completely done by a certain SG in the Sir Stevie Final in 2006
Hopefully he'll have more luck this time

In reality it would need to be two wins and a draw.
Or an away score draw and a home 0-0 and a win.
But then what would I know about everyone else losing

Igor Biscan's Missing Goal Celebration
And the difference between the teams right now still isn't really that big.
Apart from the gap between the two sides getting bigger and bigger, season on season. Spurs are going up a place or two every season. Liverpool are going down a place.
See you later fellas, match to watch. Another three points for Spurs, and CL football secured.
