Tonight

Don't know if I'm being controversial but I just didn't think we were good enough tonight

Simply put, they are a better team

Hopefully only Hart, Vinny, Fernandinho, KDB, Aguero will start for us next year because the other 6 were clearly just not good enough

Anyone blaming Pelllegrini is an idiot, he made the subs that I think anybody would have called at the right times, but our subs just weren't good enough

I thought semi finals would have been a job very well done before the group were drawn in

Hopefully pep will sort out first 11 and and make is tactically harder to beat.

But even if he doesn't, there is no shame in being behind the Big 3 in Europe, for me the Prem should always be priority.

Whenever we play a worse team at home, the pundits always quote squad values and the big European 3 are clearly ahead of us so it's entirely hypocritical to criticise us for losing to them.

But hopefully with either Pep and a couple of big signings, we are only gonna get better

Southampton would have given them a much better game. At least Man City had 2 close moments with Fernandinho and Aguero.

Madrid were no great shakes last night.
That was an opportunity gone.

Yaya and Kelechi took the place of where Kev should have been (to be more effective). Kev left holes On our flanks.

Aguero had nothing to go on at all and when he did his touch was awful, he was dropping back deeper and deeper just as Rooney does when he gets frustrated.

It shouldn't really affect us in an attacking sense but when Kompany went off it all went to pieces, we started very well albeit for only ten minutes.

I fear for Vincent Kompanny

It sounds harsh but maybe it's time for Kompany to move on, no manager can build a defence around a player who is exceptional but is going to be injured every three games.

Didn't happen for Serge, not helped by Yaya being fecking dross. We had a better link between Sergio and the two Ferns in the last leg, which is saying something because playing 442 there was no fecker actually in that role. KDB disappointing, but he's still young all experience for him. Perhaps lucky we avoided the final. Atletico would have fecked us harder than Liverpool did both times this season combined.

I'm still annoyed about last night because they were there for the taking if we'd played with any semblance of a plan.

Fact is, KdB and Aguero were way off the pace and that was evident after the first 30 minutes yet we persisted with the same strategy.

Someone said on the way out that Leicester or Liverpool would have got a result and they were right.

Didn't think they were anything close to the side we faced in the group stages a few years back. Really poor game from us that. Totally clueless and no plan in terms of how to counter them.

Fernandinho better than Modric?

Seriously?

While your gaffer can not take the blame for not being able to match them for talent on the night, he has been in charge for 3yrs and it could be argued it is his fault you got in this situation.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Pep does. It's a real challenge for him. You have some amazing forwards, but I think he has a rebuild across the defensive positions to oversee, as well as midfield.

I do see him trying to buy Alderweireld myself
