Higuain considering Chelsea

Well, According to Guillem Balague.

Apparently he would cost €48M.

Would you welcome the Higuain signing if it meant Costa would be off? Personally I'd rather keep Costa as he's adapted to the league but he has his baggage. He's injury prone, He can be a liability and let's face it he doesn't see his long term future here.

If he was 3-4 years younger then maybe but considering how much he'd cost relative to his age it's not a gamble worth taking for me

If we could get him for the amount stated in the article, approximately 38mil, provided he was a replacement for Costa or his partner in a two striker formation going forward - that would be worth it for me.

Just as Conte represents the safest pair of hands on paper for our current situation, Higuain represents the same when acquiring a striker in the summer.

Just read the Sky Sports article on it. If we got our 32mil back on Costa, a Higuain up for the move would be a must do deal.

Imo Costa is worth at least 40 million, selling him for 32 and then splurging the best part of 50 on Higuain would be irresponsible at best

Higuain wasted a lot of time at real, now making it up at Napoli with impressive numbers, hope he does come to Chelsea exact striker we need, but that's just me, and what do I know like most us

Unless we did 40mil+ on Costa, then 50 for Higuain would be a bit steep. In the event of Costa leaving, a deficit of around about -5mil would be acceptable.

Higuain is older but offers much less baggage, comes to us hot just like Costa did two years ago, has been relatively injury free for years, and (imo) is just a better player

I don't get this 'lucky to get' stuff though, we can sign anyone if the $$$ is right.

I think the title of this article irked me. I want some young, hungry barstards to join not players who 'might consider' a move to Chelsea whilst playing for some tuppenny ha'penny Italian mob.

what...with no European football to offer...i'd say we'd be quite fortunate to get him....

4za is going to be after you for that italian comment....

Higuain is obviously a good striker and a big name although I have doubts over the price tag and the player's age. As a player I'd be concerned that he's quick enough for the PL because he isn't the quickest or most mobile striker.

This just seems like a Football Manager type transfer. It would be nice if the club with all it's resources could start finding the next big thing type players instead of having to shell out fortunes on the established big names players.

Always had a great turn of pace whenever I've seen him? He's not lightening quick but his pace isn't a problem by any stretch.

Finding the 'next big thing' resembles finding love. If you actively look for it, you'll never find it. The idea of it is great, but that doesn't mean we should pursue said player over a striker of Higuain's quality. I'd personally find it refreshing, if we got him, that our last two big striker signings were actually at their hottest upon arrival - a stark contrast to a 10+ year philosophy of signing strikers two years too late (or six in the case of Pato ).

It's definitely a football manager signing. So is Conte
