I think it's a known fact Mata and De Gea are best buds. It's also a known fact that Mourinho isn't a fan of Mata. It's also a known fact that Real (and probably Barca) would jump at the chance of signing DDG if available.
So it basically all boils down to what De gea wants. I don't imagine he'd be too impressed if Mata gets kicked out the club...do you think Mata leaving increases the possibility of David leaving?
If so, do you think Mourinho would keep Mata as a squad player just to ensure De gea stays? IMO keeping de gea should be mourinho's number 1 priority
Will De Gea follow Mata out?

If Jose thought keeping Mata would mean DDG staying, he wouldn't give it a seconds thought.

I like what Mata brings to the club, particularly when played in the right position. It does appear JM is not a fan however, so his presence at the club was/is under threat.
if it is true that his manlove feelings for de gea are as true as the OP suggests, and they are reciprocated, then i can only hope that, if we lose Mata, he takes coco with him. Neither are irreplaceable and de gea's loss is particularly simple to remedy.

Did Rafael follow Fabio out... did Gary follow Phil?
I'd have thought the bond between brothers would be even stronger, yet it didn't play a big part.
Let's not forget the best friendship OT has ever seen ... Ji Sung, Evra and Tevez.... They all left at different points.

Ergo, Mata staying or going ( and i am a fran) has diddly squat to do with DDG's intentions.

Why do you think de gea has won player of the year 3 times in a row?

You are going to have to explain that one to me, bud.
I was of the opinion Agents do what their clients tell them to do.

Mata leaving doesn't mean Dave will leave at all. Dave will be as likely to stay or go whether Mata is moved on or not. They are grown men.
