De Gea is a big boy, im sure he doesnt need mata holding his hand.
besides, all this talk of Mourinho not liking Mata is totally unjustified.
it could simply be he didnt think Mata fittted into the system he was playing at chelsea.
there is no guarantee he will be setting out the same system at utd.
Are they best buds? I got the impression, those 2 and Herrera were all friends, never noticed any 2 being closer though?
I don't think what Mata does will have any bearing on what de Gea decides to do.

de gea will go if Madrid call his agent. Simple as that. What Madrid, they usually get. They usually want a new shiny toy every season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With their embargo round the corner, I'd expect they have bigger priorities.
Jose will be cautious not to upset any apple-carts here. He won't kiss up, but leaving a few positive things in place would suit him, especially keeping Mata as an option, and a goodwill gesture just to show how magnanimous he is.

It actually isn't as simple as that.
Did Rafael follow Fabio out... did Gary follow Phil?
I'd have thought the bond between brothers would be even stronger, yet it didn't play a big part.
Let's not forget the best friendship OT has ever seen ... Ji Sung, Evra and Tevez.... They all left at different points.
Also agree with Dukn above.... No saying Mata is out of the door yet.... Mourinho might have different plans, expectations etc at UTD.
Pretty sure Mata is one of the more popular players in the dressing room and even though I don't think he's lived up to my expectations, he's been one of our better players in the last 2 seasons
If mourinho comes in and gives him the cold shoulder, I have a feeling quite a few players will be quite annoyed. I only say it might affect DDG's decision because without CL football, I think he'll already be weighing his options
Mata seems to have an almost Ambassadorial role off the pitch too. I think the club will be loathe to lose him.
I don't think Mata will leave, the reason being is that our squad already lacks creativity.. unless Jose buys at least 2 good creative attacking players I think Juan will stay. Also, I wonder whether Jose may regret selling Mata, the guy was Chelsea's player of the year 2 years in a row, and on reflection he might have realised that he overlooked Mata far too soon.
As for DDG he will stay, chance to play under mourinho and for fans who love him would be more than enough to stay.. Mata or no Mata.
If Jose thought keeping Mata would mean DDG staying, he wouldn't give it a seconds thought.

I like what Mata brings to the club, particularly when played in the right position. It does appear JM is not a fan however, so his presence at the club was/is under threat.
if it is true that his manlove feelings for de gea are as true as the OP suggests, and they are reciprocated, then i can only hope that, if we lose Mata, he takes coco with him. Neither are irreplaceable and de gea's loss is particularly simple to remedy.

Ergo, Mata staying or going ( and i am a fran) has diddly squat to do with DDG's intentions.

Why do you think de gea has won player of the year 3 times in a row?

Ddg's agent is same as mourinho. He's going nowhere.
Mourinho v Mata could have the same impact as Mourinho v Eva

I was of the opinion Agents do what their clients tell them to do.
Mata leaving doesn't mean Dave will leave at all. Dave will be as likely to stay or go whether Mata is moved on or not. They are grown men.
