Rejected by Vardy 😂
Good news really but still how embarrassing is this for Arsene Wenger? Rejected by somebody playing non league football 5 years ago.
It's like walking into a brothel and not getting laid 😂

People are unironically making the point that Vardy sees Arsenal as a step down.
Where's people's sense of perspective?

They're just wums
As a Leicester fan I don't see him rejecting Arsenal as him thinking they're a step down, he just suits the way we play, is happy at the club and he doesn't want to leave because he knows our team spirit is the best he'll ever find.

Not really a big deal. Probably would have been played out of position, picked up injuries and had once good season with us at best. Seemed a bit of a desperate bid from wenger in the first place.
Good that he's staying at Leicester. Sensible decision.

I wouldn't be surprised if playing has helped him make his mind up. He's done well, and i'm not for a second saying he couldn't make the grade at Arsenal but it might have made him realize just how perfect the way Leicester play and their set up is for him. He can get a decent pay rise, continue in his good form playing a style of football that makes helps him look like the player he has been this season.

It's not that Vardy sees Arsenal as a step down, it's probably more that it's not enough of a step up for him to sacrifice his fans favourite status, guaranteed starting place etc. at Leicester to join Arsenal. It reminds me of the whole Suarez thing. Yes, he could have taken the step up to join Arsenal from Liverpool but instead he waited a year and took a bigger step up from Liverpool to Barcelona. Jamie Vardy will never play for Barcelona of course, but he could be waiting for one of the Manchester clubs.

Azpilicueta would be great but how often do Chelsea players (mata aside) come to United

I always thought Vardy would be mad to join Arsenal!
Are they going to win the EPL any time soon?

While I'm very happy we're not signing Vardy I don't understand how people can say "he wouldn't suit our style".
What style is this?
Languid, no pace, no penitration because we have a statue up front?
If Vardy could maintain his excellent form from last season in an Arsenal shirt he would be perfect for Arsenal.
The problem with Vardy is that he'd had one top season during his whole career and he's 29. No way should Arsenal put all their eggs in a basket like that, certainly not when they have more than enough cash in reserve to buy a striker who's been consistently playing at a high level.
