I mean you may be right, but what have you actually seen that suggests he is ready for that?

I've seen a fair amount of him for USA at Under-20 and Under-23 level, it seems he is well thought of within the club and he performed solidly enough against Juventus, despite the fact his defensive partner had a bad game.

With Dier in the squad (and, in Wanyama, someone to cover for Dier if he does need to be moved back) to provide more experienced defensive cover if needed, I think CCV would benefit from a season with the first-team group + some cup appearances.

But I trust Pochettino on this and if he feels we need another experienced option at the back then that's fine with me.

been banging this drum for almost a year.

he is absolutely awful, and if anything happened to lloris and vorm needed an extended period as the first choice keeper, we would pretty much have to write the season off, as we wouldn't be winning very many games.

He apparently thinks Wanyama can play CB.

It still doesnt mask the fact we only have six good options across both positions and as it stands right now if either Dier or Wanyama had to drop in to the back four, then Mason, Carroll or CCV would have to start

the prospect of mason or carroll playing a premier or champions league game for spurs fills me with fear tbh

Vorm made some bad mistakes, but it is not easy for keepers playing a small handful of games sporadically throughout the season. I think if he had a run of games he would prove his worth, he was good for Swansea after all.
