Gross spending for #MUFC (4 players incl Pogba & poss 1 more) & #MCFC (likely 8 players, maybe 1 more) will be around £155m mark for both
So interestingly us and City look set to spend similar amounts despite the huge Pogba fee. (I know they've signed 8 as opposed to our 4)
Who do think has done better?
Trying not to be biased I think United have strengthened more than City. City seem to be concentrating on signing talented youngsters which is no bad thing but it's a big risk in the short term. City's only two ready made players signed are Gundogan and Nolito. One has huge injury concerns and the other is decent but hardly a world star. The rest has been spent on potential and some of those players will immediately go out on loan.
With United we already have plenty of promising youngsters and we have added another in Bailly. We have signed ready made players in Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic and will sign Pogba who fits into both categories in a way.
I personally think United have done the better business in the short term but also have the young players at the club to be able to do this.
Thoughts?
