United and City's spending

It's hard to say because, as you've pointed out, a lot of the City signings are talented youngsters. Long term they may prove to be much better acquisitions. In the short term, I believe that we have strengthened considerably more than they have, but then we started from a much lower base.

This is also assuming we get Pogba. If we don't then I'm not sure we've had a better window for the coming season.

Man Utd have a better squad then Man City now.

definitely us

United need to simple as We need some tweaks and we are not finished spending yet.

United have signed Mhiki and Ibra....De Bruyne and Aguero are comfortably better than those two and proven in the PL.

Seems quite biased.

City's young player - "decent but hardly a world star". Yet you use Bailly as an example to show where you are stronger. I'd say of the 2, Sane is probably seen as a bigger prospect.

I'd say it's pretty even, but they have more experience of winning titles.

Did we though? They looked better on paper but a lot of their key men are ageing or injury prone. We also finished level on points with them despite having a really poor season.

I was referring to Nolito there. He's 29 without doing doing much of note in his career. Then again the same could have been said for Payet last summer so I'm not writing him off by any means.

Their is very few Man City players I would like us to get from their squad now. Man City have a far bigger rebuilding job then Man Utd to do. We gpt a team about to be in their prime and lots of good younger players to fill in.

£37m for Sane Man City got mugged.

I would say so, yes.

Silva, Aguero, de Bruyne, Fernandinho and Kompany are far better than anything we had last season.

Sterling might yet be rejuvenated by Pep, and Hart, Yaya, Sagna and Fernando are all very good players.

They were weak at left back and centre back, like us.

For those signings United's wages will be a lot more than City buys wages I'm guessing.

Echos of 2014....You were going to win everything when you signed Di Maria and Falcao...look how that turned out.

All your signings are unproven in this league, nothing is gauranteed, Mhiki could easily become another Kagawa.

Depends on Pogba really.

Zlatan will be on at least £200k p/w, but I can't imagine Bailly or Mkhitaryan are on mega bucks having joined from clubs with very strict wage structures.

Kompany can string a run of games together anymore. Silva is also looking injury prone and hasn't made any real impact in quite a while. KDB and Aguero are class no doubt and Fernandinho is a very good player.

Sterling may improve, Yaya looks finished, Sagna is 33-34 and Fernando is quite average. I just think they look stronger on paper than they actually are.

Or he could be the next de Bruyne, Hazard, Sanchez or Silva. Impossible to know at this point.

We massively need to improve. We have as good a squad as city however who IMO are very overrated. Only real top quality players are Aguero and De Bruyne.
Silva has gone downhill a bit, kompany is always injured and yaya there other big player from previous yrs is well past it. The rest aren't great really

Possibly but we can afford it so wages don't really matter.

Zlatan will be on a lot more than 200k baring in mind his free transfer signing on fee is likely to be included in the wages unless he got a lump sum?

Maybe so, but they've been more successful than us recently with those players and they got to a champions league semi-final last season. Something we didn't get close to.

Only De Gea would get in our side at the moment.

8 players?

I can only think of Sane, Nilito and Gundagon?

posted on 2/8/16

You could also point to them being the best team in the league until de Bruyne got injured at the key part of their season. Cost them a lot of points that injury.

Smalling would walk into your defence.
Shaw would get in over Clichy.
Martial over Sterling.

Apart from that, you're right.
