this seems to be happening every summer for me now, more and more each time.
I just wonder if I am alone in this?
I actually think Spurs are going to have a very good season, and might surprise quite a few again, and of course we have a champions league campaign to look forward to, but to be honest im not really bothered about the new season. i was perfectly fine with no football for a few weeks
you just cannot seem to avoid football, everywhere you go its on the radio or in the paper or someone wants to talk about it.
i just wonder if there is simply too much football around nowadays.
now once spurs play i will be as wound up as ever when we lose, and happy as usual when we win, but i just don't really miss it.
watching spurs play in the cl at Wembley is doing nothing for me, i would much rather play at a half demolished WHL to be honest.
i fancy spurs for a 3rd place finish again, and progress to the knockout stages in the CL, but cannot get excited about it.
someone say something to make me excited please !!

United fans' smugness before a ball has been kicked under a manager who lost his fackin marbles last season has been a rare joy though

them and the mousers with their normal pre season optimism.

I was gonna do a similar article to this, might still do one and go through all my issues with the game today.
Agree with it for the most part. Football is given too much credence these days, which has resulted in astronomical wages. You can just tell players nowadays don't really care much, if they lose a game they go home in their supercars to their busty model girlfriends to make them feel better.
Rise of social media gives every Muppet a chance to voice their opinion, create fake stories etc. puts ridiculous pressure on players/managers, it's only football Ffs. Fans nowadays (particularly big teams) don't really care about the football, just that they have a shiny new footballer to show off to their mates, to the point where it's not even exciting anymore.
Obviously clubs rinsing fans (like my own beloved arsenal) shows the game is a business now rather than.... a game (mainly at the top level).
Loads more I could go into but cba man, but if I could go back in time I'd slap myself silly at the point I got into football. So many more useful things to spend your time on.

Genuinely hope they make an absolute mess of this season. All the principles they used to preach about when SAF was there have suddenly been abandoned such as focusing on youth rather than spending loads like City, not to mention the abrupt 180 on Mourinho, they're all jostling for position to nosh him off

Same with op. Too much money and hype in the game EPL, rarely matches up to the bullsheite spewed by the media. Not all that bothered, prefer the CL.

What do you most wish you'd done instead?
