Meh.
I'm excited in the sense that we have CL football. Also really looking forward to Pep managing in the Premier League. Biggest managerial appointment in this leagues history without question.
However I'm not looking forward to the season as I don't see our squad being strong enough to compete. Also the spectre of more dull, negative, boring 'football' from the likes of West Brom and Leicester and possibly some others which for me is ruining football more than anything else.

Chronic, you do know you don`t actually have to listen to all the nonsense on the radio and the TV about football, there are on and off switches. You could be like me and only watch Spurs games. Football in general bores me to tears now, but it is following Spurs that keeps me going.
I'm buzzing cannot wait to go Wembley for the CL games

Chronic,
do you think it has anything to do with us also not being very exciting in the transfer windows?
I remember the days when I would be dying to see the new players turn out for us in the new seasons
but during recent years where we've been a little 'safe' with our dealings, it's just not as exciting for me.
I remember when we signed Van Der Vaart, prime example of this... I was buzzing for the new season to start, but with us making sensible signings and not really signings that will improve our starting 11 it's not got the same shine to it.
I know it's how it is for Spurs for the time being but it could be something to do with that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think our transfer business has been excellent

last season was the first season I watched virtually no football apart from spurs and the biggest premier league games for other sides.
watched virtually no la liga, watched virtually none of the euros, and very little champions league either.
Yea I'm excited. Mate picking me up at 6am tomorrow to go up to Liverpool to see us play. Then night out in Liverpool afterwards. The season is back

excellent but boring
----------------------------------------------------------------------
why is it boring? what makes a window not boring?
VDV? hardly messi. and we didn't sign him until deadline day so going into the season we didn't have him anyway, or know we would get him.
spurs haven't made a "superstar" signing since klinsmann probably, and was too young to properly remember that.
davids you could argue, but he was very much towards end of career
I felt the same for the last 3 summers, knowing we were going into the new season with very little hope of winning a trophy.

Chronic, imagine we get drawn in a group with a team like Barcelona for the CL.
Spurs v Barca in a competitive match under the lights at Wembley.....and you wouldn't feel a small tinge of excitement? You'd be dead inside.
This season will be great.
Without turning this into a therapy, maybe you're just bored in the routine that you have or other things in mind that are more important than football which you want to change...
I'm looking forward to it (not excited though) but it's not because of Spurs. I think we will end up outside the top four again, but its going to be interesting to see how Man City transform under Pep. How Zlatan, Pogba and Mourinho do at United and the general increase in competition.
The season ending like it did too after playing well through most of the season, being title contenders and then to finish with nothing to show for it and sitting below Arsenal to boot doesn't instill confidence. No matter how good we can be there will be that linger of doubt in the season.
Not winning trophies and/ or seeing really top signings can dampen the mood i guess. I think similarly some Arsenal fans have had football in general "ruined" by supporting a stagnant team and manager.
The most exciting time in football for me was probably during the "Joga Bonito" days. Ronaldinho in his prime and the overall entertainment involved from those players. Difficult to think of a player now who entertains as much.

Hate it all tbh. Can't stand facking football. The media grind my gears, as do all the glory hunting caaants out there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I kind of agree with Chronic on this, the start of the new season used to seem more exciting when there was less media coverage. Nowadays it's constant rumour, speculation and bitchfighting in the press to the point where it's football overkill.
Usually improves once the transfer window is shut thankfully
