Truthfully, we have been poor this season and have continued the form from the end of last season. Everton and Palace were poor performances, lucky to get 4 points and once again lucky today. The main issue I am having is I don't understand our "philosophy"? We don't press high up the pitch like we initially did with Poch and I feel our attacking play is almost painful to watch, very pedestrian and reminds me of AVB days. Every pass seems to go into someone with their back to goal who then passes it back or holds onto it for too long and then we are back to square one.
Liverpool, while profligate, showed what good pressing and fluid attacking play looks like. I hope we can get to that level. That said their defence is awful and if our attack was any better we could have won today. In contrast our defence is fantastic and saved us.
Once again Kane has been poor, and for me, Alli is our most overrated player in the squad. Yes he is a scorer of great goals and he gets assists, but if Chadli can be lambasted for going missing then Alli deserves a bollocking. Considering he plays in the centre of the pitch I just don't understand how he is always invisible, and he hardly ever releases the ball quick enough.
Poch needs to bring some players in, while I hardly agree with him, I'm with Don in that we need to be looking higher than facking Zaha. I mean, Onomah coming onto the pitch as our attacking change is a joke, nothing against the kid but he plays as a kid - shows no confidence/arrogance and insists on the safe option to pass back to whoever gave him the ball. Him straying offside at the end (and Alli being stupid enough to pass it) shows our immaturity.
Rant over, I hope things pick up and I welcome the 1 stars

Lets hope we can bring in some quality before the window shuts but seriously concerned if we will.
The game today illustrated clearly how we clearly miss Dembele. We currently have no one who can dominate a football.
I do like Alli but he needs competition. Many fans put him on a pedestal but I have never personally been one to go overboard on him. He goes missing a lot in games and infuriatingly his touch can be a little poor too often. .
To get a point and not play that well is promising however that was only down to our keeper. If we fail to bring in further reinforcements by deadline day with our current squad, its going to be a long season.

Actually Billy, the trip was well inside the box
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It looked like Lamela`s accidental contact was just outside the box or on the line, Firmino then went on to trip himself up in the box

On the line = penalty
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On the line is not a goal nor is it out of play, so why should on the line be deemed inside the penalty area.
The ball has to be 100% over the line, to be a goal, out of play or inside the penalty area. I have seen free kicks given before with the ball directly on the line of the penalty box.

How were we lucky to beat Palace??
Alderweireld and Janssen missed absolute sitters and they hardly mustered a chance against us.

Billy...............the penalty area consists of the lines bordering it and everything within those lines.

Alli and Kane are tired that's why it is so important we go out and spend.
Go out and get a forward and James Rodriguez actual quality.
Our two best attacking players are tired is it any surprise we look disjointed?
