1.To think that O.Burke is the difference between us being a good or bad side is doing a real disservice to the other Forest players on the pitch & the group in total.
2. Spending money on stellar signings does not necessarily give you success. Jordan Rhodes; £11m spent by Middlesboro for a bench warmer. Thank goodness PM didn't want him.
3. Of the seven players who we have signed or loaned for a total of circa £1m, what value would you put on them now after just 7 games of this season?
Henderson
Pereira
Perquis
Lam
Traore
Kasami
Vellios
How many had you heard of before they were signed & how much did each one cost? Good business or bad business?
3. FFP is a part of the championship & we have to play by the rules or we pay a heavy price. Fact.
4. Forests expenditure is a lot more than it's income. FAH plugs that gap each year to the allowable amount. The nett difference is covered by selling players. Painful but it has to happen or we go into FFP.
5. My first game was in 1963. I have been a fan ever since. I have seen us sell many many very good players. I have enjoyed watching them whilst they have been with us & I have been disappointed when they were sold but I am still a fan.
Judge the three latest signings when you have seen them play a few times for Forest not on the amount of money they have cost or on the fact you have never heard of them. Who had heard of Danni Pinnilos before he came to us on a free?

Hi earner.
Wonder if a free agent is being lined up?

Good to see them shipping out players like Dex who will just never play... But if Britt gets injured, does that only leave vellios?
That's a lot of faith there.

Pay off Dex but keep Fatty Fryup ?? Surely Fryatt has to go as well

"FAH has not done the complete opposite to what he said."Every penny would be used to make Forest stronger" is what he said"

Fawaz's Twitter comment was....
"I can assure all #NFFC supporters that his money will be used and reinvested back into the squad"
Sorry but the implication there is not that it will be used for day to day running or to keep the FFP wolf from the door.
The Greek reporter who has pretty spot on about most things lately was the one reporting that Burke was sold behind PP and PM's back. Considering he's been first to name most signings before they are confirmed, I think it can't be just dismissed as hear say. Plus let's face it the same thing happened with Lascelles/Darlow.
The way I understand the set-up is that the Greeks have installed PM and PP, plus a few others ahead of the investment being confirmed. They don't get final say on transfer and as such, Fawaz for whatever reason sold Burke. This has put the investment in further doubt (according to the Greek reporter).
I think there is a bit of scrambling around trying to make more comfortable sense of it all
For me, family cash point is closed, Fawaz needs cash for day to day running and got trigger happy as investment is getting held up. Again we're not sure why, but I can't believe the Football League would just sit on it this long, has been to be another factor.

If PM and PP didn't have a say on the Burke transfer and thought he was staying, maybe their targets were pre-drawn up. Even if Fawaz gave them a chunk more cash they had three days to move the goal posts and maybe weren't comfortable they could do that properly before then. Who knows?
What's clear is Fawaz hasn't gone and just signed a player himself to appease fans, we can be thankful for that.

"Fawaz's biggest problem is what he says on Twitter. "
Nope, it's that whole running of the club, paying bills, communication and a few other things

Very good post, Steve.
It is inevitable that whenever we discover someone who is good enough that they will be sold sooner rather than later. But I would have waited until January, given the start we have made and the small possibility of making the play-offs.
Some of the posters criticising the sale of Olly Burke would do well to cast their minds back to the Doughty/Arthur regime when we used to let our better players run their contracts down and then leave for nothing.
Darlow & Lascelles cost £0 sold £8 million
Antonio cost £2.5m sold £7m
Britt cost £5.5m
Burke cost £0 sold £13m
Profit = £20m and we still have Britt (who will probably be the next one to be sold).
We have also come out of the transfer embargo.
That tells me the club is being run well financially.
On the pitch at first team and academy levels we are also sound.
Administratively it is still seems to be a shambles.
All we need now is for Fawaz to find a way of working with PM and PP and trusting them to do their jobs; and also for him to find a CEO and hand over day-to-day running of the club to him. Probably too much to ask though.

Rat, you're right about Fawaz posting on twitter is a mistake. But not as big a mistake as people taking notice of what is on twitter. It's just drivel, except for the insightful stuff I post

There's drivel everywhere on line, there's just more people on there. I have criteria I filter on to improve the quality, individuals that like attendance related arguments / "banter" are something that's muted for starters

I also don't follow people who annoy me so if go to my standard feed, there is refuge from rubbish on there. Even Fawaz, Emad and co are not followed for that very reason
