Anyone else can't stand the guy anymore? Brilliant player one of the very best, absolute gent when he was a player but ever since he's retired the guy has not shut up about how much he "now hates United"
Something has really gotten in his bonnet surely that he can't help himself slag off the club in every single interview or post/pre/during match bit of punditry he does!

Purely on a technical point of view Scholes is one of the greatest to play the game, and his football game was out of this world.
However what makes me hesitate when it comes to putting him at the top top bracket of footballer, is that he couldn't defend to save his life, and for a CM that is unacceptable.

I've always thought that. A midfielder has to be able to tackle, surely?
Yes as an AM there were none better, but an alround midfielder, no.

I find Scholes to be annoying, He has no enthusiasm for the football he does punditry for and always seen p1ssed off when working with BT.

Just because he was a great United player doesn't give him a right to be a great United spokesman. The best thing he could have done is be as quiet in retirement as he was as a player. I'd have a lot more respect for him that way. Still revere him as a player. As a spokesman he's a jackass at times, and a boring one.

He's just jealous because Man Utd are about to become better than they ever were when he was playing.

Not a chance. Not without another half a billion spent on the right players.
There's not a player in our current squad as good in their positions as these guys were:
Beckham
Giggs
Scholes
Keane
Neville
Evra
Ferdinand
Vidic
Stam
Irwin
Ronaldo
Rooney

This idea that he couldn't tackle/defend at all is a bit of a myth for me. I think it stems from the fact that, contrary to the nice guy that the media portray, Scholes was actually a nasty little sod on the pitch. He was often excused by the pundits for his poorly timed tackles, and they'd usually laugh them off as though he didn't mean them. In truth, most of his bad tackles were after the opposition player had hurt one of ours or we were being overrun and he sought to fire his teammates up and turn the game into a battle with a rough challenge. There were also times were his poor tackles were born out of frustration at himself for a mistake or poor game in general, or frustration at his teammates.
Now I am not saying that he was a great tackler or anything, but he did win the odd one here and there. Also, tackling isn't the only aspect of defending. Scholes would still work hard for the team, funneling opposition players towards his teammates so that they could make a tackle and he was also reasonably good at spotting passes and making interceptions. To say that he couldn't defend at all is a little unfair for me.

Scholes was in no way overrated as a player. If anything he was underrated by a lot of non-United fans who inexplicably thought that Lampard was better than him!
That said, he has become a dour, boring cretin since retirement. He's entitled to his opinion but a pundit is supposed to be balanced in his opinions which Scholes definitely is not.
I also suspect that Scholes would make a terrible manager so it irks me that he so often puts the boot into United managers who at least have the balls to enter that profession. Any plum can spout crap on tv - just ask Robbie Savage - but it takes a brave man to become a manager. And United managers deserve more respect than they get from Scholes.
