It's an article that I never thought I would ever post, wherever he would be managing.
Mourinho's career until the last few years had a definite look of immortality about it. He looked as if he was destined that everything he touched turned to gold. Yes, he has always fallen out with people along the way but even that has never seemed to de-rail his inevitable collecting of silverware. He referred to himself in 2004 as "A Special One" and at times he has looked to be just that. He never seemed to suffer the same fate that virtually all of the rest of the Management world seemed to suffer from like relegation battles or outright struggling.
That all changed last season. Suddenly the seeming golden boy was looking as fallible as all the rest of the mere mortals with showing extremely poor judgement, lack of grace (which he has always suffered with) players that seemed to be just not responding to his usual tried and tested methods and was clearly unable to arrest the decay in the Chelsea results.
At the time I didn't want the board to sack him and thought he should have been given more time considering his previous record, but with hindsight now when I look back on it, the chances of him ever turning that around looks unlikely. Ultimately the fate of the Club is bigger than any individual however popular amongst the supporters that individual may be. So given a choice of relegation for my Club or Mourinho losing his job, then I'm sorry the Club come first. The players had clearly lost all respect for him and had downed tools (unacceptable as that clearly is) and we were sinking like a stone as they clearly were never going to pick them up again while he was in charge, so relegation possibly would have followed. It seemed personal against him and his methods. He had apparently lost dressing rooms before but never had there been such a tangible effect overall on the results and League position as this.
Then this season he join he joins Man United and I like a lot of people thought that normal service and the inevitable trophyfest would resume in ernest. On the surface it looked a match made in heaven. The biggest Club in the Country, an ambitious well-proven manager in a job he had apparently always coveted, huge funds at his disposal and no player around the Globe out of his reach should United decide to sign them.
Now with the season only barely a month old, some of the supporters are already doubting him, the results look just like the Chelsea ones last year and to be honest he seems to have lost that acute acumen and invincible look that he had for so long, wherever he went.
So the question is has Mourinho lost it permanently? Or is this just another blip in his career that long-term will show that he was mortal like all other managers in the game and just as likely as them to have setbacks. Will he come back stronger than ever or will his whole career now wither away in years of failure?
Personally I just don't know, but it will be interesting to see how the United drama will play out.
Has Mourinho lost his mojo??

mourinho hasnt lost his mojo
but he has lost his marbles
He needs a long break from football imo, i question his mental state,
His performances for united are the exact same as last season
Calling out individual players, causing internal fiction and being tactically un flexible
I wish him well, but not whilst he is at untied, I hope he crashes and burns

He had a long break last year....

No shame in admitting I was completely, blindly sold by Jose, main reason for this was his first season at the club, his arrongance and contempt to anyone who question the club I felt made us invinsible, and gulvanised players and fans alike,
Since then I was hooked to the point of where yes the players downed tools and Jose did play a big part in that. with the whole doctor thing(again sided with Jose) and treatment of players, but again because of his first season I still backed him 100% even though he did do things that cut deep, like selling Mata for instance I still backed him and saw through it, selling lukaku, kdb was also clowded my eyes as we won the league.
Despite it all unravelling really quickly I still believed he would turn things around as he was still that manager we had first time round, and considering what he had won for the club can Explain why I was critical towards the club and the players(mr Chelsea also deserves a mention) and was convinced he should have stayed and be given the chance to turn it round,
I can honestly say that looking back on the whole saga from first stint to second I will be forever grateful for what he delivered when it was good, winning the league playing well or not playing well, runs in champions league which included memorable matches, owning arsenal constantly, and so on.
But now he has moved on I started to see what people were saying, and how it embarrassed our club. His constant digs at Wenger, blaming refs at every opportunity, Eva scenario, questioning the players publicly, now I find myself asking was it all worth it the league win 2yrs ago, losing Mata, KDB, lukaku? Not really now considering what the team is missing now, might sound ridiculous and rightly so depending where you stand with Jose, but I would gladly swap it to have those three players still at the club.
All the best to the Jose, but considering he has joined United I can't help not to take pleasure in the not doing well I I will mock not because it's Jose managing them, purely because they are rivals,
anywhere else he can sweep up trophies barring the champions league, respect for him will always be there.

The Canario carnage was Jose's single most cringeworthy episode ever...& for my money he was retained two months too long...despite his legend status
Sadly LO we have an awful track record of not playing players who do not look like they are going to make the grade...KDB probably being the best example of that...
not to mention COUNTLESS youngsters we put out on loan at the drop of a hat...another failing from Jose
My worry ATM is Conte is doing the same...be interesting to see who he picks both tonight, & on Saturday at Arsenal
word is there was a very late meeting Sat am discussing our season start......I think Conte admitted he got it wrong though...which is a start

Roman like every other Chelsea fan wasn't happy at the manner we lost that game against Liverpool. Never seen Chelsea being dominated in their own backyard like that (including vs Barca games ). Conte on the other hand has question the standard of the transfers brought in the summer, which sugests that he doesn't have a big say in transfers !!!

He has a big say in team selection though....which has been lacking

I am.bot saying Conte's is faultless in this, probably cut some slack if he has to work with the players he says have been forced onto him.
