Nah, not exactly. But I think the spark has gone. Doesn't seem to be a great deal of appetite.
He went from Inter to RM straight to Chelsea. 3 high profile, high pressure jobs without a break. The best part of 8 years. Think its definitely had an effect on him. And last season especially. Think he's still suffering from shell-shock.
Serge, do you think he may be questioning his own methods? They have always worked well previously before for him but maybe he needs now to evolve into some new ones?

He f@cked up big time against Swansea last season when he questioned a medic. Not his place to do so.
He lost the dressing room and F@cked up our season big time. Lose a couple more games and you'll see his true colours!
Summer I was gna make this article but decided against it but you echo my thoughts. Serious consideration has to be given here. Has he lost it? Has he become past it. You'd think with us winning a league under him just 2 years ago, he's not past it but I dont know. Something just doesnt seem right about him. He doesnt seem to be able to change games anymore. He cant arrest a bad slump either. Maybe this is all premature though.
For the record, I did tip Utd for the league this season. I thought he has it all at Utd. Money, control & power to mould the team into what he wants.
Has he peaked too early ? Maybe just a set back and hopefully he'll turn it around, he is world class manager.

Probably best if I do it Mr. C. If you had it would have been misconstrued and looked like one of "Barney's" finest.
Jose's first season back with us wasn't all rosy. Think he needs some time tbh.
Losing to a team of Man City's class can happen and he or the players clearly don't want to be in the Europa, no matter how passionately he portrays he wants to win it to the media.
The Watford result was bad but this is the Pl
Mourinho is still the same manager he once was, however thats the problem. Football has changed, and his methods are looking more and more outdated. His second stint as manager at Chelsea, lasted two and a half years. The first was failure to be honest by his standards.
Sure we managed to make a title challenge, but the contenders were Liverpool under Brendon Rodgers, and City under Pellegrini. We were in a great position to win that year, however once Hazard became injured our team collapsed at the final hurdle. Second season he deserves the credit into how he prepared the season for the early stages, and how we managed to grind results the second half of the season. However, when you consider how bad our rivals were that year, we would have really underachieved if we didn't win the league.
I do think hes a good manager, but I don't think he is this untouchable genius which some people still believe he is. He has made a lot of mistakes with all the sides he has managed within the last eight years. He also achieved a lot too. Great manager he certainly is, but definitely not the best out there anymore.
Fckin Barney. He needs to be brought back on a one off special one day

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly, but to me right now, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of energy about him, as if he doesn't quite have all the commitment or appetite that he once had for management. Whether this is just a case of him being a bit older and wiser...?
Last season was probably a big shock for him, probably something he hasn't previously experienced, and he didn't have the answers, or didn't last long enough to fix things.
I think its knocked his confidence hugely. I don't think there's been that bullishness or cocksureness that he had. Whether this is anything with him 'toeing the line' at United I don't know.

Question here folks. Did Mourinho really want to manage us 2nd time around. I've always been sceptical of this.

I like to think he did, because I did love him before his second stint.
I really don't he cares much about any club, he just wants personal success and win trophies. Chelsea was a good choice for him to rebuild, had much of the core of players around from when he managed.

They say never go back....
I don't think it was "losing the players" which caused our collapse last year, it was mainly because the team was not (and still not) good enough.
It worked for a year because we had Terry rolling miraculously rolling back the years, and Hazard in the form of his career. We saw all the warning signs in our title win that the team really needed evolving.
Roman always wanted Pep and Jose maybe wanted the Man Utd. Neither got what they wanted. So both settled for the second best choice.

I believe he did Mr. C that's why he accepted the extension when it was offered. If his mind was elsewhere at that point then obviously he would have wanted to keep himself accessible and not tied in somewhere making it less attractive to potential suitors to come and get him.
Then of couse it all went pete tong for him with us and at that point he probably did want out. It's now looking like out of the frying pan and into the fire.

He wasn't going to lose by signing a contract extension.
I suspected he was not the same manager he once was when he returned to Chelsea. You've got to think that for a manager with his self-belief, the failures in La Liga knocked him back a little and would have had him questioning his own ability. If that didn't then last season surely must have done. If it's not the frequency of losses these days that lays on the evidence then you only have to look at players he has let go of or continues to rate (Rooney).
There still may yet be a chance to turn the tide but he's certainly not looked the unwavering success he was of 5 and more years ago.
