During the last 2 years I have noticed something that concerns me regarding freekicks, near to the penalty box.
There is a 10 yd rule that the referee will pace out.
Now regardless of some referees having short legs there is a conspirasy going on.
For 2 years I have consistantly seen referees pacing out 9 yards not 10!
will you count for me and reply to this please.
To confirm my suspicion TV channels nolonger show you the ref pacing out!
You may see his first 3 or 4 and then coverage switches elsewhere.
Okay on the odd occasion some referees will count 10 yds then turn around with the spray with an extended arm and bobs your uncle = 9yds.

Do they walk The Whole Nine Yards?

This is an outrage. I've even seen 8.5 paces out on numerous occasions.
Jonathon Moss often gets to 7 and then arbitrarily sends off two players for not being behind his badly drawn foam line.

I'm still surprised the foam hasn't had its own sponsorship deal yet - Gillette would do well.
I think the number of steps comes down to whether it's metric or imperial steps that are being used.

What infuriates me is that referees will - /as standard/ - draw out a straight line with their foam spray when it should be slightly curved in a circle around the spot of the foul.
If this continues, I will be creating a petition on Change.org.

As the stuff they use resembles shaving foam, a picture of Neil 'Razor' Ruddock on the side of the can might be appropriate.

Referees have feet, so it must be imperial.
