Cant believe that the kick off time against Sadford is 7 pm. Thats way too early, and it'll ruin the gate, people wont be home from work etc - FOOLS, on a brighter note, its only a tennar !

Its not local licencing. It forms part of the Football Licensing Authority.
the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area including, during the restricted period (15 minutes before the start of the event to 15 minutes after the end of the event), rooms within the ground from which the event may be directly viewed.
Complete bonkers. Even extends to corporate boxes. The biggest danger of having beer in your seat. Is accidently soaking the person in front of you when you jump up suddenly.

you could do that with a scolding hot cup if coffee whuch would be far worse eh lol

Very true. I know that from experince. When a Gary Roberts ball came steaming over the bar. Hit the wall then came straight at me. Whilst carrying two coffees. Burnt my hand.
What about the daft rule at Old Trafford. Bottle tops to be removed from all pop bottles. The kids took the tops off in the queue, hid them in their pockets and instantly put them back on at the other side of the turnstiles.

I went to see the cricket at Old Trafford a while back and they were confiscating drinks at the gate. It was apparently "on safety grounds" which was funny as you can get the same drinks just inside the ground but at a ridiculously high price.
There was some serious drinking going on with people continuously bringing a 4 pint carrier back to drink. After many hours of drinking the worst that happened was the stewards trying to confiscate a giant "snake" of cups. The funniest thing is they would grab one and then another snake would appear and be moved around just out of reach!
There have been 6 hours of drinking by that point and the fans were all mingled in, I just think that most fans would be fine with a pint or two. Any that cause trouble would get drunk and cause trouble anyway.

You can drink ale while watching the Giants from your seat, Though they do remove and keep the bottle top before selling you the booze, Dangerous things them bottle tops you know !
I agree about Boozing fast before Town games, Them 3 swift pints of cider go straight to my head, I dont buy booze in the ground at Town matches as it is too dear to drink while only having a view of the stadiums internal walls.

& people worry about the 'coming' Police state !!!!
sounds like we are already in it....init .
At the W.A.C.A. (cricket ground in Perth) you can't even take in bottled water if the plastic seal has been broken......& yes, they check every rucksack/bag/holdall ! But sell that very same brand of water at the stalls...double what you paid mind
Enter the old burst on a rose bush, plastic football repair trick ?
Empty the contents darn thy neck or drain if you don't drink water
fill with Gin/vodka
now comes the 'Viz top tip' bit
simply heat a knife over a flame, then smear the seal back onto the bottle top with the hot knife...presto, smuggled 'water' !
Oh how people will laugh by the 10th over, thinking "He can't take his water".
Re the contracts for providing food, What a load of 8ollocck5 !!!
The prices are so high because the provider is over as barrel .
Many who want to buy, won't because of the cost,
All because the club, or whoever is responsible 'can't be bothered' to do the right thing,
Years ago we came 2nd to Cam Utd in the food & drink league, & end up where we are now,
Lawful Rebellion...Don't consume .

Town fan, if it's the football licencing authority that makes the rules then I wonder why you can't drink at the galpharm during the match but you can at Bolton ?
Smuggling booze in via flasks, false legs or plastic bottles seems to be our only hope....
there must be additonal local rules applied too.
As for food in the stadium, I would guess the franchises are tendered and vetted before being granted. part of the bid would be a pricing and quality standard agreed before the contract is awarded. Thereafter any price increases would have to be submitted for approval first, so it's KSDL I presume who are adding a % on top to rake off into the coffers of KSDL to help fund the cost of running the stadium facility and paying off the loan for constructing the complex.
If HD one comes on board the income streams from that £120m investment would similarly be used to repay the loan and interest, so we're never likely to get prices down to 'normal' shop prices.

MBWB..I recall the same on the infamous western terrace at headingley, in the days you could bring in as many tins as you could carry, and some guys were carrying 24 packs. Sadly it all went the same way and restrictions and confiscations during a frisking process meant you had to buy the beer from inside...and indeed the thousands of used plastic cups provided entertainment during the quiet late afternoon spell when everyone was well oiled..great fun until the hired thugs were brought in to act like the gestapo..and changed the atmosphere from jollity to annoyance...I always wonder who the decision makers are who ruin everybodies fun.

The last test match i went to was against the Aussies about 5 years ago at Headingley.
Twas a great day weatherwise and a group of "sun" or "star" dolly birds were handing out lightweight corky style stress balls outside the ground before the afternoon session, Twas a great afternoon watching the fuzz being constantly pelted by the aforementioned novelty freebie ball type missiles.
